Clean & simple

Good morning! Among the chaos of the Christmas rush I've managed another challenge. I haven't made a clean & simple page for ages & with this layout I didn't want to take too much focus away from the photo so I kept if simple. Although I did do some hand stitching which I haven't done for a long time - sewing + me = not a good combination. So here is the inspo from the girls over at http://stucksketches.blogspot.com.au/

Anyway thanks for dropping by once again! Have a great weekend.

The Paper Players #125

While I had my stash out today I thought I'd have a go at the current challenge over at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com.au/  This is the colour challenge:

Three of my fave colours at the mo.......yum!   And here is my take:

I did the emboss-resist technique on this which I have so much fun doing & the tulle is so soft that it is really easy to do a neat bow.  Thanks again for looking :)

The Orange Paperie & Co December Challenge

Hello peeps! I'm a tad over the Xmas card making at the mo & decided have a go at the December challenge over a http://www.orangepaperieandco.blogspot.com.au/  This is a sketch challenge & the criteria is to use the sketch as inspo, a Xmas pic & non-traditional colours.

I decided to go with a monochromatic layout this time & used some gesso, glimmer mist & liquid pearls, a little bit of embossing as well. And as you can see lots of distressing.

Thanks for dropping by & I hope you have a fantastic week :) xx

The Paper Players #123

Good morning! My DD asked me to make a few "special" Christmas cards for her to give out & when I saw the new sketch challenge over at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com.au/ it was the perfect sketch for what I had in mind. I love this tulle from Stampin' Up! because it's so soft & easy to work with & of course I'm still of my Pool Party/Glitter/Kraft fetish :)

It's a bit hard to tell in this pic but the tree is is covered with glitter & the mat behind the pool party c/s is glitter as well. Looks more effective IRL. Click on the pic for a closer look. Thanks for dropping by xx

The Orange Paperie & Co Challenge

Hi again all! Just popping in to upload my entry for the November challenge over at http://www.orangepaperieandco.blogspot.com.au/  This is the inspo:

And this is my take.  I spent quite a lot of time deliberating over this page but once I got going it was completed relatively quickly, with the exception of "drying time". Please don't take offence at the weapon in this pic, but it is all a part of the training & as much as I dislike weapons of any kind, this is DS's life now & something that I have to become accustomed to. There is lots of inking, spraying & painting in this layout & I finally got around to using the rusting powder that I purchase at the Brissie Expo back in June. I really love how easy it is to get the rusting effect (see the barbed wire, toy soldier & parts of the title) & it looks better IRL. I thought the metal cogs & gum leaves were perfect for this page.

Thanks for dropping by once again I really appreciate it :)

Paper Players #122

The current challenge over at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com.au/ is to use either Gold or Silver.
For my Christmas card theme this year I'm using Pool Party, White & Silver. On this card I've used silver embossing powder & silver glitter paper which IRL really sparkles.
