<br />
Hello fellow paper lovers! Another month has gone by and I've only managed to achieve one more layout. This month's challenge at <a href="http://scrap-challenge-yourself.blogspot.com/">Challenge YOUrself</a> is a real ripper and I'm sure that I'm not alone in dreaming of Summer again and hoping for the freedom to go travelling again. For this challenge I wanted to record the last trip we did to Sydney before we were all confined to our own communities. We had tickets to see Home Free for their one and only Sydney concert and of course we made the most of a weekend in the City. I remember it was a beautiful balmy summer evening and we were reluctant to go to bed after a wonderful meal, so we decided to wander the Darling Harbour precinct. It was a lovely way to start our weekend away.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's a really poor-quality photo but it sums up how happy we were at being away from the horrors of the devastating bushfires and drought, the constant smoke and heat, and the pending Pandemic for a few days.</div>

I'm back today with my entry for this month's Challenge over at <a href="https://scrap-challenge-yourself.blogspot.com/2020/05/challenge-yourself-77-about-mom.html">Challenge YOUrself</a>. It's a very easy one for us Mums...<br />
<br />

This is my take with photos of me with my two fabulous offspring...<br />

<br />
I've used some delicious Cocoa Vanilla paper and title and the flowers are from Dlish Scraps, which I've hand painted with water colours.<br />
<br />
I hope you get a chance to join in on this month's challenge. Until next time xx<br />
<br />Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-25844510537806285012020-05-04T16:39:00.000+10:002020-05-04T16:39:43.353+10:00Scrap the Girls<br />
I hope everyone is keeping well during these unusual times. I'm lucky enough that I'm still able to go to work (essential services), however I have been on a bit of leave due to the fact that we were supposed to be on a trip to the Cook Islands and New Zealand....bummer :( So we're using the time at home to do some over-due maintenance and cleaning. But I have found some time to enter into this month's challenge at <a href="http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com/">Scrap the Girls</a>. I was inspired by the girl with the sunglasses, lace outfit and flower crown.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MBYX1BQbldg/Xq-3Ggp_FrI/AAAAAAAAE9c/OxL9FnhwStA8q_0F0lBtNfXS2n2dMpznwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/May.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MBYX1BQbldg/Xq-3Ggp_FrI/AAAAAAAAE9c/OxL9FnhwStA8q_0F0lBtNfXS2n2dMpznwCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/May.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I felt the need to record a bit about the Pandemic and how it has affected me in this small way.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pv6YF9VykV8/Xq-3umUECvI/AAAAAAAAE9k/4MMaNxh-Q8wsXKq7Hy_vW6CoPuEzyrBfgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Cheers%2BMay%2B2020.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1191" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pv6YF9VykV8/Xq-3umUECvI/AAAAAAAAE9k/4MMaNxh-Q8wsXKq7Hy_vW6CoPuEzyrBfgCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/Cheers%2BMay%2B2020.jpg" width="295" /></a></div>
<br />
I've used some of the Paradise Found collection from Kaisercraft, which I bought specifically in anticipation of some wonderful photos from our now cancelled trip. The background stamp is one that I've had in my stash for over 12 months and had not used until now. Anyway thanks for looking xxJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-57423444609276873452020-03-01T16:23:00.000+11:002020-03-01T16:23:08.313+11:00Challenge YOUrself #74Hello friends, it's long overdue but I've created something! And what better way to begin again than by entering a challenge at <a href="https://scrap-challenge-yourself.blogspot.com/">Challenge YOUrself</a>. The due date is almost upon me so I knuckled down and got this one done in 45 minutes....a true record for me!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zfl60bNRFb0/XltFqbD8CsI/AAAAAAAAE8o/qT7MZDNa2kY7F3OK3DZWRXqqwbaoeJklACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Discover%2Byour%2Binner%2Bhero%2B29Feb2020.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1597" data-original-width="1600" height="396" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zfl60bNRFb0/XltFqbD8CsI/AAAAAAAAE8o/qT7MZDNa2kY7F3OK3DZWRXqqwbaoeJklACLcBGAsYHQ/s400/Discover%2Byour%2Binner%2Bhero%2B29Feb2020.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The challenge criteria is to find inspiration in the lyrics of the song "Hero" by Mariah Carey. This layout is in keeping with my current personal growth journey. When I printed this photo of myself in front of this lovely mural in Canberra I knew that I had the perfect papers and embellishments to match. That doesn't happen very often for me hence why I completed it in super quick time.<br />
<br />
Thanks for looking guys! xx<br />

Hello folks, just sharing my take on the current challenge over at <a href="http://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.com/">More than Words</a>. My layouts are few and far between these days while I'm concentrating on recording our recent travels. More than Words challenges always seem to catch my eye so I've dived in.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3e1Ba0YqIBo/XPSuHeyRHcI/AAAAAAAAE5w/mNxZg7Q_Fvw9ChRcab7Q8J8AR--XhLKbwCLcBGAs/s1600/More%2Bthan%2Bwords%2BJune.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="519" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3e1Ba0YqIBo/XPSuHeyRHcI/AAAAAAAAE5w/mNxZg7Q_Fvw9ChRcab7Q8J8AR--XhLKbwCLcBGAs/s400/More%2Bthan%2Bwords%2BJune.jpg" width="321" /></a></div>
The challenge is to pick one of your favourite past layouts and scraplift it. Here is one of my favourites from 2015...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P1SO4xUqL18/XPSue8bdm9I/AAAAAAAAE54/EH43jrIlttAdXI_rIcAMv2HnosA9CZltACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC00691.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1574" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P1SO4xUqL18/XPSue8bdm9I/AAAAAAAAE54/EH43jrIlttAdXI_rIcAMv2HnosA9CZltACLcBGAs/s400/DSC00691.jpg" width="392" /></a></div>
<br />
Gosh it's been a while since I've used this many flowers! My style is a little more low key in the flower department these days...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sKWQljCMqLI/XPSuznMFVlI/AAAAAAAAE6A/x4EnSiLBjbg8gfZ4BAgIDvqCTJm7p3mAgCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC00695.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1169" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sKWQljCMqLI/XPSuznMFVlI/AAAAAAAAE6A/x4EnSiLBjbg8gfZ4BAgIDvqCTJm7p3mAgCLcBGAs/s400/DSC00695.jpg" width="291" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a 9 1/4" x 12 1/2" page but the design is similar. I've used my current "favourite" kit from Cocoa Vanilla "More than Words", with a photo of my "favourite" gal pal. <br />
<br />
Thanks for looking and I hope you can join in on the challenge this month xxJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-76109567508398100062019-03-15T14:52:00.000+11:002019-03-15T14:52:30.636+11:00More Than Words March Challenge<br />
Hello lovelies, I'm just popping in with a quick share today. I'm still using the fabulous Cocoa Vanilla Kit "More than Words" - very appropriate for the wonderful challenge over at <a href="http://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.com/">More Than Words Blog</a><br />
<br />
This month's challenge really inspired me to finally record a memory from my time visiting the Louvre in Paris...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xItdFaKkBuc/XIseAEsj0NI/AAAAAAAAE4o/uDxdr7vJ0a0KyvZhWzD_37W_jEuZ8GG2ACLcBGAs/s1600/More%2Bthan%2BWords%2BMarch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="519" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xItdFaKkBuc/XIseAEsj0NI/AAAAAAAAE4o/uDxdr7vJ0a0KyvZhWzD_37W_jEuZ8GG2ACLcBGAs/s400/More%2Bthan%2BWords%2BMarch.jpg" width="321" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Besides Michelango's Pieta at St Peter's Basilica (yet to visit), Antonio Canova's beautiful sculpture is my next favourite. It really needs to be seen in real life because the smoothness of the marble, the proportions and the heavenly romanticism of this sculpture took my breath away.<br />

Thanks for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in with this Challenge. Have a great weekend!Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-83335119340200206472019-01-26T14:31:00.000+11:002019-01-26T14:31:43.773+11:00One little word...<br />
Hello, hello and welcome back. Instead of getting on to my memory keeping of some older photos, I decided to try my hand at the challenge over at <a href="https://scrap-challenge-yourself.blogspot.com/2019/01/challenge-yourself-61-one-little-word.html">Challenge YOUrself</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YxeUEXp0pII/XEvS5bnacXI/AAAAAAAAE38/ZY7GZL43dssDnzaxaCqQz3M3Dh76eiWigCLcBGAs/s1600/CY%252361.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="320" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YxeUEXp0pII/XEvS5bnacXI/AAAAAAAAE38/ZY7GZL43dssDnzaxaCqQz3M3Dh76eiWigCLcBGAs/s400/CY%252361.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
It took me until now to work out what my "word" for 2019 would be, but like most things, it just came to me at the most random moment. I'm going to try to work more with 9 x 12in pages this year. They are so much easier and take up less space as well, and I pulled this layout together is super quick time. Also I couldn't resist using the "More than Words" kit from Cocoa Vanilla.....a truly beautiful collection and very appropriate for this Challenge.<br />

Good morning and TGIF! I'm just popping in to share a couple of wedding cards that I made recently. It's been a while since I've made a card with so much love and effort put into them. I've used lots of Kaisercraft products which made the whole process so much easier...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-c67NmwszcYs/XDfdVMcNwSI/AAAAAAAAE3Y/KvNoQJB1MmA4nczZmCHFqHZE48l8TDvRgCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC09629.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1311" data-original-width="1600" height="327" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-c67NmwszcYs/XDfdVMcNwSI/AAAAAAAAE3Y/KvNoQJB1MmA4nczZmCHFqHZE48l8TDvRgCLcBGAs/s400/DSC09629.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Also doily and leaf die cuts and the beautiful flowers are from Petaloo. Not sure if they're still available.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PPUJTDOLjVI/XDfdT-6-bjI/AAAAAAAAE3U/uaqWfcs9ZjU4YSzFejnJwDlsK1l4_fovQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC09630.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1241" data-original-width="1600" height="307" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PPUJTDOLjVI/XDfdT-6-bjI/AAAAAAAAE3U/uaqWfcs9ZjU4YSzFejnJwDlsK1l4_fovQCLcBGAs/s400/DSC09630.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
On the next card I've used a Kaisercraft Die "Rose Cluster" and I cut it out in a Rose Gold shiney cardstock.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I hope you've found some inspirition here. Thanks for looking xxJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-82496929475576296022019-01-09T11:05:00.000+11:002019-01-09T11:05:04.261+11:00Kraft+ January Challenge<br />
Well hello again! It's been a while since my last post. Life and a wedding took over my life for a while, but a new year means I'm well overdue for some creating. I thought I'd start off this year with a quick art journal page for the current Challenge over at <a href="https://kraftpluschallenges.blogspot.com/2019/01/january-2019inspired-by-indigenous-art.html">Kraft+</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2xiaxtCoAus/XDU5na88UiI/AAAAAAAAE3A/KxYLuyNYvRIcyrlju2A4LeCIX_4nWN1RwCLcBGAs/s1600/K%252BJanuary%2B2019%2Bchallenge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="521" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2xiaxtCoAus/XDU5na88UiI/AAAAAAAAE3A/KxYLuyNYvRIcyrlju2A4LeCIX_4nWN1RwCLcBGAs/s400/K%252BJanuary%2B2019%2Bchallenge.jpg" width="325" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I used a 8x8inch kraft background journal page, Dylusions paints, serviette (napkin), clear gel medium, Ranger Enamel Accents, white Posca pen and an appropriate quote to begin the new year with. I was inspired by our Indigenous Dot paintings.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3SMyrBt_r6M/XDU5t1wl4nI/AAAAAAAAE3E/yy3JT89PyhU021qi003-qgdlBC9ibweFQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC09737.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1596" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3SMyrBt_r6M/XDU5t1wl4nI/AAAAAAAAE3E/yy3JT89PyhU021qi003-qgdlBC9ibweFQCLcBGAs/s320/DSC09737.JPG" width="319" /></a></div>
<br />
Thanks for looking and hopefully I'll be adding more creations very soon xx.Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-39325987481544317232018-08-26T15:58:00.004+10:002018-08-26T15:58:58.192+10:00Sketchabilities #152I'm so happy to see <a href="https://sketchabilities.blogspot.com/">Sketchabilities Challenges</a> up and running again. I love using their sketches to give me a kick start and as a previous design team member I'm so happy to continue following the current design team's projects. <br />
<br />
Here is the current sketch:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tbQL-g4ewyo/W4I_xkwME7I/AAAAAAAAE2c/yOd6mmPXKCIkcO_yUeJ04ug-s_8CzIvqACLcBGAs/s1600/Sketch%2B%2523152.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="550" data-original-width="550" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tbQL-g4ewyo/W4I_xkwME7I/AAAAAAAAE2c/yOd6mmPXKCIkcO_yUeJ04ug-s_8CzIvqACLcBGAs/s400/Sketch%2B%2523152.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I chose to use a photo I snapped whilst wandering along a bush track near the Blue Lake at Jenolan Caves, just before my brown snake encounter....eeeek! Lucky this water dragon posed for me beforehand, because a few minutes later I sprinted past him so fast that he wouldn't have been able to see me for dust! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_OuWQ1bgfkU/W4JAnWeVClI/AAAAAAAAE2k/md2ZYGOu9QU-xAZzHtpV4WZaxFuLXjBvwCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC09509.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1585" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_OuWQ1bgfkU/W4JAnWeVClI/AAAAAAAAE2k/md2ZYGOu9QU-xAZzHtpV4WZaxFuLXjBvwCLcBGAs/s400/DSC09509.JPG" width="395" /></a></div>
<br />
I've used the Kaisercraft "Road Trip" papers along with a few of my own die cuts. I also took a full-length photo of this little guy that turned out perfectly as well. Taken with just my old Sony point-and-shoot camera. Anyway this is the first challenge I've entered in almost 2 years, so it's nice to get back in the saddle :)Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-35240350298537304392017-12-14T16:39:00.000+11:002017-12-14T16:39:07.518+11:00Love is in the air....Hello everyone, it's been a while since I last posted here. Sharing with you today an Engagement card that I made for our daughter. Yes! our Girl and her man are getting married....excitement plus!<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
A labour of love this one :) This is my attempt at Champagne glasses. The lovely wood veneer heart is from D-lish which I've painted, misted and added touches of Gold embossing. I think I may be getting the "Wedding Stationery" Gig.... but no pressure of course :D<br />
<br />
This lovely surprise came along not long after the happy couples' shared "big" birthday and of course I whipped out the stash once again for that celebration.<br />
<br />

<br />
So the silly season is upon us and along with that comes the extreme heat. Luckily I'm trying to acclimatise for an upcoming Asian adventure, so I should be used to it by the time Christmas arrives.<br />
<br />
If you're in the Northern Hemisphere stay warm and cosy and for everyone else keep cool! I wish you all a very happy Christmas and lots of happiness and good health for 2018.Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-45376079007070125792017-11-04T14:26:00.000+11:002017-11-04T14:26:42.029+11:00Stuck?! November SketchHello again. I can't believe a whole month has gone by since I've posted here. Last month was quite busy in my neck of the woods with work, birthday celebrations and preparing for my annual scrapbooking weekend away. Hence there was no time to enter Challenges. So I'm determined to have a go at a few of them this month before the "silly season" decends upon us.<br />
<br />
I always enjoy joining in on the sketch challenges over at <a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.com.au/" style="font-weight: bold;">Stuck?!</a><b> </b> Here is the current sketch inspiration:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Oh6rpU0lTlU/Wf0xUpPK7tI/AAAAAAAAE0w/l5VMxviBmoABvGZMgZjT1aH6fu25ODTLACLcBGAs/s1600/Stuck%2BNovember.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="600" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Oh6rpU0lTlU/Wf0xUpPK7tI/AAAAAAAAE0w/l5VMxviBmoABvGZMgZjT1aH6fu25ODTLACLcBGAs/s400/Stuck%2BNovember.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The Design Team inspo is amazing, so I do hope you get a chance to pop on over & check them out.<br />
I decided to go with a large, single photo. I've hidden my story on a tag behind the photo at the top of the page. I've used the beautiful "Rose Avenue" collection from Kaisercraft along with some Kaisercraft stamps.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Te7io69-28w/Wf0xY0neeDI/AAAAAAAAE04/EwNL8f0icVIpSipdHryVBJDDpXMjzng6QCLcBGAs/s1600/Stuck.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1599" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Te7io69-28w/Wf0xY0neeDI/AAAAAAAAE04/EwNL8f0icVIpSipdHryVBJDDpXMjzng6QCLcBGAs/s400/Stuck.JPG" width="398" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
I've used quite a lot of 3D foam mount tape to make all the roses "pop".<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AHeikmi7Oc4/Wf0xYx6nSfI/AAAAAAAAE1A/wIpMWt8jruUEjlDCNPU6fhqeYA_PYcDjwCEwYBhgL/s1600/DSC08079.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AHeikmi7Oc4/Wf0xYx6nSfI/AAAAAAAAE1A/wIpMWt8jruUEjlDCNPU6fhqeYA_PYcDjwCEwYBhgL/s400/DSC08079.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CaD4abnKHD8/Wf0xYX14YtI/AAAAAAAAE1A/sMlbABdwd6AX_bDpYd7fCtQuyWpk062uACEwYBhgL/s1600/DSC08076.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="775" data-original-width="1600" height="193" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CaD4abnKHD8/Wf0xYX14YtI/AAAAAAAAE1A/sMlbABdwd6AX_bDpYd7fCtQuyWpk062uACEwYBhgL/s400/DSC08076.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hopefully this will be the first of a few Challenges that I have on my "to do" list this month, but I'll wait & see if time permits because I'm in the midst of recording our trip to France (via PL) from earlier in the year. As usual it has become bigger than Ben Hur & I have quite a lot of work to do on it. Thanks for looking xx</div>

One of the creative jobs I've been doing has been for <b><a href="https://www.uniquelycreative.com.au/">Uniquely Creative</a>. </b>Tracey very kindly asked me back to the Team for October as a Guest Designer, so I thought I would share with you what I came up with from one of the very generous Kits for this month.<br />
<br />
It was really nice to be creating a couple of 12x12 layouts this time as well as a few cards. The Kaisercraft papers in this Kit are stunning! I chose to use a couple of photos from one of the many Chateau that we were lucky enough to visit on our recent trip to France.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vwrhA4D5WvQ/WdBVlrO9BmI/AAAAAAAAEzQ/Z-jp0XAf9EoLTZn7Bavsf7rFZlit_RBZwCLcBGAs/s1600/Uniquely%2BCreative%2BOct%2B2017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1582" data-original-width="1600" height="395" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vwrhA4D5WvQ/WdBVlrO9BmI/AAAAAAAAEzQ/Z-jp0XAf9EoLTZn7Bavsf7rFZlit_RBZwCLcBGAs/s400/Uniquely%2BCreative%2BOct%2B2017.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Included in this Kit is the laser-cut brick work which went perfectly with my theme. I actually went on this tour on my own, because DH wanted to do a different tour this day. I had such a lovely time wandering and exploring on my own. The gardens here are <i>magnifique!</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Check out the Collectables and pretty flowers that are included in this Kit! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
For this next layout I really wanted the photo to be the star so I kept the embellishments to a minimum and concentrated mainly on what I love to do and that is to "cluster". This building is just at the entrance to the same Chateau and it is the first thing visitors see as they cross the ancient old stone bridge over the moat. I love how the building is reflected in the water.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And here are a couple of cards I made with this Kit as well, with lots and lots of product left over.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So this is what has been keeping me busy plus prepping for an upcoming creative weekend away with the Sisterhood...can't wait for that to happen :) I hope you get a chance to hop on over to the Uniquely Creative site and check out this amazing Kit. xx</div>

G'day everyone and welcome back. Today I'm sharing my take on the mid-month sketch over at <a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.com.au/">Stuck?! Sketches</a>. This one took me out of my comfort zone a tad which is always a good thing. However it turned out a lot busier than I originally intended. Once I started playing with some Colour Blast texture paste and the Flutterby Designs goodies I just kept going.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aaXzpuToNbA/WZzdTWadSoI/AAAAAAAAEy0/wUmprTbCzhkJ8URYUAtCaWJUSimtEmw3wCLcBGAs/s1600/Stuck%2Bmidmonth%2BAug.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="600" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aaXzpuToNbA/WZzdTWadSoI/AAAAAAAAEy0/wUmprTbCzhkJ8URYUAtCaWJUSimtEmw3wCLcBGAs/s400/Stuck%2Bmidmonth%2BAug.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's very rare that we get a chance to have these cousins photographed together, so when the occasion presents itself we really make the most of it.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pJAO5I78Htk/WZzdYHzVI7I/AAAAAAAAEy8/YVlAdVgguSg7GNa_U67oo0Zc0pW9_eGHACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC07836.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1588" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pJAO5I78Htk/WZzdYHzVI7I/AAAAAAAAEy8/YVlAdVgguSg7GNa_U67oo0Zc0pW9_eGHACLcBGAs/s400/DSC07836.JPG" width="396" /></a></div>
<br />
I used a stencil to throw some texture paste and Flutterby Design paint onto the background and then got out a border punch that I haven't used for ages, plus a few Kaisercraft dies. I've also used Flutterby Designs cards, Flair and Tags. I'm trying to really use lots more colour in my layouts this year, even though it makes me nervous :) It's a sad fact that I'm really not good at colour coordination.<br />
<br />

Thanks for looking xxJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-14998945399793151092017-08-11T16:18:00.000+10:002017-08-11T16:18:07.648+10:00Kraft Plus August ChallengeHello again fellow paper lovers! Sandra and the team from <a href="http://kraftpluschallenges.blogspot.com.au/2017/07/august-challenge-leaves-and-branches.html">Kraft Plus Challenges</a> set a very interesting Challenge this month. When I first looked at the inspo board I really didn't think I would enter this time around. But after some consideration I decided that I shouldn't let it daunt me so here is my take...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wuD9jMWs2qA/WY1HoN6DRRI/AAAAAAAAExw/zw9kRlnmEoAhSWEqob3VjAXIyLDo5XzqACLcBGAs/s1600/17426279_10209032692878109_4694263887656057823_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="521" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wuD9jMWs2qA/WY1HoN6DRRI/AAAAAAAAExw/zw9kRlnmEoAhSWEqob3VjAXIyLDo5XzqACLcBGAs/s400/17426279_10209032692878109_4694263887656057823_n.jpg" width="325" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
After making a complete mess of my first attempt and having to completely start over, this is the finished layout.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ERhr8H_3tEc/WY1HpR31qWI/AAAAAAAAEx0/PwUQ8zA4JXgWLs1mkzDXRHWr14D6mGdVQCLcBGAs/s1600/K%252BAug.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1572" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ERhr8H_3tEc/WY1HpR31qWI/AAAAAAAAEx0/PwUQ8zA4JXgWLs1mkzDXRHWr14D6mGdVQCLcBGAs/s400/K%252BAug.JPG" width="392" /></a></div>
<br />
The journalling reads "<i>These lovely palm tress in Barcelona really captured my eye until I noticed they were guarding a magnificent frescoed wall". </i>We were escaping the heat and having a sneaky drink in a cute little bar just near the Palau de la Musica, when I found myself staring at these trees. It took my mind a few minutes to register that the building behind them was covered in some amazing paintings. Below is a photo I took of the Palau de la Musica Catalan, just opposite the bar.<br />
<br />

Thank you once again for looking xxJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-71378478569740477772017-08-09T16:30:00.000+10:002017-08-09T16:30:14.736+10:00Stuck?! Sketches August ChallengeJust a quick post today for my entry in the current challenge over at <b><a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.com.au/">STUCK?!</a> </b>I've been down with a strain of the Flu for the last week and it's really knocked me around. It's frustrating to have all this time off work and no energy to play in my craft room :( anyway today is a better day and I think I've turned the corner and the new sketch was beckoning me.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bb7TslhASiE/WYqrAzkBDLI/AAAAAAAAExY/l3f4eQ-IsqYAz1cQT-sTdgevkEyYRIjegCLcBGAs/s1600/Stuck%2B1%2BAug.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="600" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bb7TslhASiE/WYqrAzkBDLI/AAAAAAAAExY/l3f4eQ-IsqYAz1cQT-sTdgevkEyYRIjegCLcBGAs/s400/Stuck%2B1%2BAug.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So here is my take:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aeQpLmwLO-U/WYqrN1HHtHI/AAAAAAAAExk/Dyw7AtrSjO8sH3HcgknObKpeFrC4yNvZwCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC07819.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1574" data-original-width="1600" height="392" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aeQpLmwLO-U/WYqrN1HHtHI/AAAAAAAAExk/Dyw7AtrSjO8sH3HcgknObKpeFrC4yNvZwCLcBGAs/s400/DSC07819.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I think it's self-explanatory. I'm a bit pleased with myself that I actually remembered to leave space for journalling! That's new for me :D<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Thanks for looking xxJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-79906302605281889372017-07-27T12:59:00.002+10:002017-07-27T12:59:43.077+10:00Travelling with a diaryAs promised I'm back again today to give you my take on what it's like to travel for six weeks and keep up with diary entries without it becoming a chore. It's a little lengthy so I would suggest that you grab some sustenance to get you through.<br />
<br />
I always take a journal along with me on all of our "big" trips and like most people I would start off with lots of enthusiasm and write every little detail down. However by around the third or fourth day of doing this it would become burdensome and boring and I would return home with only a few pages of monotonous dribble. Sound familiar?<br />
<br />
When we were planning our six week overseas trip I was determined to find a way of writing in my Journal every day that would be less time-consuming but enjoyable. I came to the conclusion that I would need help with deciding on how I was going to keep up the momentum and in what format I would achieve my goal. Pinterest is a fantastic help with ideas on what type of journal I wanted to use and tips on creativity. You can read about what I eventually decided on and the prep work in an earlier post <b><a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=5956186785619864285#editor/target=post;postID=3925806714596601216;onPublishedMenu=template;onClosedMenu=template;postNum=3;src=postname">HERE</a>.</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
During my search for a travel journal Guru who could show me the way, I happend upon this interesting book by Dave Fox. He shares some great examples on how he writes in his Journals and<br />
gives the reader several writing exercises to do before you get started. I found his advice very helpful and tried to keep in mind what I had learnt from him during our trip.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F0olqWxtLIc/WXlB-LO2VmI/AAAAAAAAEvY/hNVGuVa5ubg4O09ZIgVQZTW7Anmg4e9kACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC07811.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1080" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F0olqWxtLIc/WXlB-LO2VmI/AAAAAAAAEvY/hNVGuVa5ubg4O09ZIgVQZTW7Anmg4e9kACLcBGAs/s320/DSC07811.JPG" width="216" /></a></div>
<br />
The other thing I did was to make sure that I purchased a postcard every day (not to post but to keep for myself). Now you may think that this is extreme but I had two good reasons for doing this. Firstly if my journalling motivation failed or I got behind by a few days, then the postcards would be a reminder of what we did on that particular day. Secondly, I use Project Life/Pocket Pages to record all our travel photos when I return home and writing on a postcard everyday, or every other day, meant that my journalling for this album would be done already. All I had to do was pop the postcard into the relevant pocket next to my photos and job done! Having said that, surprisingly there were a few small villages we visited that, despite the tourists, didn't sell postcards...go figure! These were rare though and as you can see I accumulated quite a stash.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8avX_bnLCsY/WXlD7ZYQfGI/AAAAAAAAEvk/QnonvdZnsB49fel9cx_bHvEPkCFV-TH6wCLcBGAs/s1600/Collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1068" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8avX_bnLCsY/WXlD7ZYQfGI/AAAAAAAAEvk/QnonvdZnsB49fel9cx_bHvEPkCFV-TH6wCLcBGAs/s400/Collage.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
I would write on these every day without fail, no matter where we were (hence the shonky handwriting). I'm so glad that I did because I <i>did</i> get behind on several occasions with the entries in my travel journal and I used these to catch up.<br />
<br />
I decided that early mornings were best for me to journal, mainly because I'm an early-riser and my mind is sharper in the mornings than at the end of a long day of sightseeing and/or a date with a cheeky French wine. So I would sit somewhere quiet before breakfast and jot down the previous day's activities, but only the ones that were a standout or something that gave us the "wow" factor, or it could even be something trivial that gave me a strong emotion. I could quickly print off a photo or two that I'd snapped with my phone (usually selfies) using the little whizz-bang HP Sprocket, add a few mementos or embellishments that I had collected and it was done. Some days I'd spend longer on the page, depending on what plans we had for the day ahead.<br />
<br />
As you can see it became a little bulky...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QfkYboFOdeA/WXlGuUSgCqI/AAAAAAAAEvw/mWyXz5rxejADs5apM7YTKUKDt8ehNJ3AwCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC07806.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QfkYboFOdeA/WXlGuUSgCqI/AAAAAAAAEvw/mWyXz5rxejADs5apM7YTKUKDt8ehNJ3AwCLcBGAs/s400/DSC07806.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<b><br /></b>
There were days when I went a tad overboard with my writing and probably added too much detail but on the whole I was pleased that I used only one page per day. The only two-page spreads I used were for the days at The Somme and the Normandy D-Day Landing sites, which gave me so many emotions that I couldn't do these places justice in just one page. Occasionally I journalled about several places that we visited in one day hence having to use two pages, but these were very few.<br />
<br />
Every now and then I would just add an envelope or a bag to pop in our tickets or memorabilia. This is better than my old way of throwing our collection into a bag and trying to sort through it all when we arrived home. Thanks Lizzy Hill for gifting me the lovely bits and piecs on this page! xx<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i5cZlIGnims/WXlI-1Z6dEI/AAAAAAAAEv8/bLP9XOgil9o_IpL0_BBGwTstKLdLUTl1QCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC07795.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1269" data-original-width="1600" height="316" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i5cZlIGnims/WXlI-1Z6dEI/AAAAAAAAEv8/bLP9XOgil9o_IpL0_BBGwTstKLdLUTl1QCLcBGAs/s400/DSC07795.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I found some great kraft envelopes before I left that fitted the pages in the journal perfectly. I cut off the end to slip stuff into it so I didn't have to keep untying the string. I didn't take any glue as such with me just a small glue pen, a small roll of double-sided tape and a few rolls of washi tape.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0f1h-Pa5bko/WXlI-2yStwI/AAAAAAAAEwE/NKP1QyBDx5gfe7wBzI23TY7rw-y1RKbvgCEwYBhgL/s1600/DSC07796.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="1600" height="341" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0f1h-Pa5bko/WXlI-2yStwI/AAAAAAAAEwE/NKP1QyBDx5gfe7wBzI23TY7rw-y1RKbvgCEwYBhgL/s400/DSC07796.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is one of my two-page spreads. There was so much going on in my head this day and so many emotions that I just kept writing. I even ended up writing on a tag and placing it just inside the envelope along with some information that I'd picked up at the Villers-Bretonneux Australian War Museum.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qXhJbNKkfCg/WXlI-YhyxEI/AAAAAAAAEwE/1dDoO40IHago2pYmCFKusLO0Hu3OYFhPACEwYBhgL/s1600/DSC07797.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1146" data-original-width="1600" height="286" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qXhJbNKkfCg/WXlI-YhyxEI/AAAAAAAAEwE/1dDoO40IHago2pYmCFKusLO0Hu3OYFhPACEwYBhgL/s400/DSC07797.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I was really surprised and delighted that by the end of the third week my journalling was still going strong and more importantly I was enjoying it. I do tend to get a bit "antsy" when I go for too long without some type of creativity, so this was keeping my "crazy" at bay. I really love this little bag that came with a postcard that I purchased. How did they know it was the perfect size for my journal!! :D<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F4VMLlvaQ6E/WXlLIsc7GJI/AAAAAAAAEwQ/Km3FHUK0AQAtFiiX5xzy0SkeXa5A6bj-ACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC07798.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F4VMLlvaQ6E/WXlLIsc7GJI/AAAAAAAAEwQ/Km3FHUK0AQAtFiiX5xzy0SkeXa5A6bj-ACLcBGAs/s400/DSC07798.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I thought I would run out of pages before the end of our trip so I started adding extra pages and little flip tags etc.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-x3GinbuvRNg/WXlMGlXAQuI/AAAAAAAAEwg/bEtUnr1J92c4w28C-3HA52dqrcv8G0NtACLcBGAs/s1600/THIS%2B%2526%2BTHAT%2BTEMPORARY.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1068" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-x3GinbuvRNg/WXlMGlXAQuI/AAAAAAAAEwg/bEtUnr1J92c4w28C-3HA52dqrcv8G0NtACLcBGAs/s400/THIS%2B%2526%2BTHAT%2BTEMPORARY.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
The photo on the left (below) is a A5 size piece of paper that I wrote on the front and on the back added a photo and memorabilia. I took an itzy-bitzy, tiny stapler with me which turned out to be a game-changer as far as keeping these extra pages in place goes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sD7wsdI8cZ0/WXlMGmKOM7I/AAAAAAAAEwk/lrLd3xS7-PonJvYwlTR3oAsbfFJsP5diwCLcBGAs/s1600/Travel%2BJournal%2B2017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="266" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sD7wsdI8cZ0/WXlMGmKOM7I/AAAAAAAAEwk/lrLd3xS7-PonJvYwlTR3oAsbfFJsP5diwCLcBGAs/s400/Travel%2BJournal%2B2017.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
Also on Pinterest there are same great ideas on doodling. I won't bore you any longer with every page but this is the last few pages that I did when we returned home. It's always good, after a few weeks, to jot down your thoughts and things that you may have learnt from your experiences. I wrote a page about all the Highlights (and there were many!) in a dot-point style.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pEoXvIri0fo/WXlNz1rUC0I/AAAAAAAAEws/x1GP_nZUFDQH4WoZeadrfhVNNtKVSRdHQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC07803.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pEoXvIri0fo/WXlNz1rUC0I/AAAAAAAAEws/x1GP_nZUFDQH4WoZeadrfhVNNtKVSRdHQCLcBGAs/s400/DSC07803.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I've had these wonderful quotes from Pinterest stored away just waiting to be added at the end. I think they sum things up pretty well. I'm sorry but I have no idea who wrote these.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8A1QInRVfLA/WXlN0ntAS6I/AAAAAAAAEww/aKcj2lyxJtIs2QyPQK_QE3ypTScyYrkbACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC07804.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8A1QInRVfLA/WXlN0ntAS6I/AAAAAAAAEww/aKcj2lyxJtIs2QyPQK_QE3ypTScyYrkbACLcBGAs/s400/DSC07804.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
On the very last page I wrote my thoughts, six weeks after our return, jotting down what I would have done differently and what it was like sorting through the 1800 photos that I managed to take...gulp! This is the back inside cover.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mXaiRJRwB_8/WXlN1DWgY4I/AAAAAAAAEw0/iPcEnTcIaJ07kIJuwbaoCY0Xk4UsiDP4ACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC07805.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mXaiRJRwB_8/WXlN1DWgY4I/AAAAAAAAEw0/iPcEnTcIaJ07kIJuwbaoCY0Xk4UsiDP4ACLcBGAs/s400/DSC07805.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
The result is that you absolutely can travel, having wonderfully huge days of being on the go and still write about your amazing experiences at the end of the day. It doesn't have to be every little detail but just the ones that took your breath away, something brilliant that you ate or drank, something that someone said to you or made you laugh out loud. Of course you can add the where and when of it but keeping those details brief is the key. There will be a few things that I will change in my next Travel Journal but overall this system worked for me. It will be lots of fun reading this five or ten years from now. I'll probably cringe but at least its recorded and it will help me when it comes time to put together our photo album.<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed these little tips. I enjoyed this process so much that I'll be creating another one for a trip to Myanmar at the end of the year. A trip that will not only take me way out of my comfort zone but an adventure that has significant meaning for me with a very special person in my life. So stay tuned for the next Travel Journal instalment.Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-1500507806168868142017-07-26T16:26:00.000+10:002017-07-26T16:26:34.008+10:00July ChallengesHello again and thank you for calling in. While I'm finally on a roll with my creativity I wanted to have a crack at doing a few more challenges but the month is almost up so I'm combining this layout with three Challenges. I don't normally do this but time is of the essence. When I saw the new Challenge over at <b><a href="http://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.com.au/">More Than Words</a> </b>I just had to join in with one of my recent travel photos. Criteria: the word "Explore" and the use of Arrows. I've used the word "explore" at the bottom of the photo of me if you look closely.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_UxuhzEsJOM/WXgy0Ae2w_I/AAAAAAAAEuw/BR17y1E61IQrEaVvqX64paKdlBUhY4qvgCLcBGAs/s1600/MTW-201707-Main.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="519" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_UxuhzEsJOM/WXgy0Ae2w_I/AAAAAAAAEuw/BR17y1E61IQrEaVvqX64paKdlBUhY4qvgCLcBGAs/s400/MTW-201707-Main.jpg" width="323" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The next Challenge I wanted to join in on is the one over at <b style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://scrap-challenge-yourself.blogspot.com.au/" style="text-align: center;">Challenge YOUrself</a>. </b><span style="text-align: center;">Criteria: Use your own handwriting in your journalling.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3YZsTyXEYJ0/WXgy0Dsez2I/AAAAAAAAEuo/qU92y0dRmM45z72PAtE2G0oLrt7XSp79ACLcBGAs/s1600/Challenge%2BYourself%2BJuly.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="400" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3YZsTyXEYJ0/WXgy0Dsez2I/AAAAAAAAEuo/qU92y0dRmM45z72PAtE2G0oLrt7XSp79ACLcBGAs/s400/Challenge%2BYourself%2BJuly.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
Now to achieve the first two challenges I needed some sketch inspiration, so I'm also joining the mid-month challenge over at <b><a href="http://stucksketches.blogspot.com.au/">Stuck?!</a> </b>I can always rely on the girls at Stuck?! to get my imagination into gear and this one's a beauty!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4Rud6NmDBqE/WXgy0NXe1uI/AAAAAAAAEus/vZF0c-3wf9cx_9QnJv0xEFUGtswc_pF8ACLcBGAs/s1600/StuckSketches_07July152017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4Rud6NmDBqE/WXgy0NXe1uI/AAAAAAAAEus/vZF0c-3wf9cx_9QnJv0xEFUGtswc_pF8ACLcBGAs/s400/StuckSketches_07July152017.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
So here is my entry. I've used two photos on my layout because I wanted to use the full size pic of the Cathedral as well as the close up of me resting at the entrance. I kinda got carried away with my ink splats...eeek! I do love getting messy with ink though :D<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6e9PfB3uQFA/WXg0aayoyWI/AAAAAAAAEu4/1Yn8NCQsZt0rQv1rMhaTfQ8At4JlUEcmACLcBGAs/s1600/Edited%2B2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1579" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6e9PfB3uQFA/WXg0aayoyWI/AAAAAAAAEu4/1Yn8NCQsZt0rQv1rMhaTfQ8At4JlUEcmACLcBGAs/s400/Edited%2B2.JPG" width="393" /></a></div>
<br />
So there you have it. It's so therapeutic being able to create again.<br />
<br />
STAYED TUNED as tomorrow I'll be posting a review on how I went with journalling my travels whilst on the go...achievable? You'll find out the answer right here tomorrow :)Johttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-59942712989562928032017-07-25T07:46:00.000+10:002017-07-25T07:46:37.367+10:00Back to reality...Well hello everyone! It's been a few months but after galavanting around France and Barcelona for six weeks, then a family wedding away and work committments I've finally been able to do some creating. There are so many wonderful challenges out there this month I didn't know where to start! I haven't created a layout for many, many months so I kept procrastinating about it until I forced myself to just sit down and start something. I can always rely on <a href="http://kraftpluschallenges.blogspot.com.au/">Kraft+</a> to give me a kickstart. Here is their July Challenge:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p2oUjZA0cug/WXZnzjqnwXI/AAAAAAAAEuI/fXlju1EO-qc7SbC05rTqPvTPBT69oZIZgCLcBGAs/s1600/K%252BJuly.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="521" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p2oUjZA0cug/WXZnzjqnwXI/AAAAAAAAEuI/fXlju1EO-qc7SbC05rTqPvTPBT69oZIZgCLcBGAs/s400/K%252BJuly.jpg" width="325" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This was more difficult than I first realised, mainly because I haven't used flowers for quite a while let alone with a Kraft background. But whilst in Singapore we visited the beautiful Gardens by the Bay and I took this photo in the Bloom Dome. I think it is the most perfect Rose and the colour is so very pretty and of course I wanted to showcase this magnificent bloom.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Nature in all her stunning glory</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
I haven't used any pattern paper on this layout at all because I didn't want to distract the eye from the photo and the die cut is quite busy in the background.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yUNckWSMsWI/WXZooKAyBdI/AAAAAAAAEuY/AAw3oN13rS44mbCBNmfhur1-L0DX2AioACEwYBhgL/s1600/DSC07792.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yUNckWSMsWI/WXZooKAyBdI/AAAAAAAAEuY/AAw3oN13rS44mbCBNmfhur1-L0DX2AioACEwYBhgL/s400/DSC07792.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
The inspiration over at K+ is amazing so if you haven't visited them this month yet, pop on over and take a look.<br />
<br />
I'll be back later with photos of my travel journal in its finished state and if you're interested I have posted a few photos from our travels on my FB page, but I'm sure you'll be seeing them here as I get them ready into my PL albums. Thanks for looking! xxJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-39258067145966012162017-05-11T11:27:00.001+10:002017-05-11T11:27:46.962+10:00I do believe it's time for an Adventure.....As promised I'm back today to share with you my Travel Journal preparations. I have gone ahead an decorated the first few pages ready for my jottings at the airport and during the flight. I used a Kaisercraft film strip edge stamp for the borders of my pages. By the way, the pages look a little bubbly because I've glued every second page together, firstly because there were too many pages in this spiral bound book plus I wanted my pages to be a bit stronger to support anything heavy that I may glue into it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6x-r2ZBbmpk/WROwWv4NY0I/AAAAAAAAEtI/mgE5cR-5IWYENOC8t5jkcbUWzvy0zKWeQCEw/s1600/Journal%2B1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6x-r2ZBbmpk/WROwWv4NY0I/AAAAAAAAEtI/mgE5cR-5IWYENOC8t5jkcbUWzvy0zKWeQCEw/s400/Journal%2B1.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I found a pack of lovely envelopes that fit perfectly (sideways) into the Journal. I cut one end off it ready to slip some mementos into it without having to untie the string closure. I decorated this one with stamps, tags etc.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vaYIPu_b5zI/WROwWjfYhBI/AAAAAAAAEtY/R_mF1YQ6ME8tr9gqmKNDTLcznmhTkW8BACEw/s1600/Journal%2B2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vaYIPu_b5zI/WROwWjfYhBI/AAAAAAAAEtY/R_mF1YQ6ME8tr9gqmKNDTLcznmhTkW8BACEw/s400/Journal%2B2.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
I borrowed this little photo from the internet, decorated it and printed with my new "whizz-bang" HP Sprocket (more about this little wonder at the end of this post). The aeroplane on the right page is from my well-travelled friend, Lizzy Hill. I'll be taking a few rolls of washi tape to stick mementos onto my pages and for decoration.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W4a4tPLDjXY/WROwWrFbsaI/AAAAAAAAEtY/e5GnBBL-9_Miz0WkMbwYjb2QJXdbjWQmACEw/s1600/Journal%2B3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W4a4tPLDjXY/WROwWrFbsaI/AAAAAAAAEtY/e5GnBBL-9_Miz0WkMbwYjb2QJXdbjWQmACEw/s400/Journal%2B3.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have a beautiful Postcard stamp from Stampin' Up! that I love using on my travel projects, so it goes without saying that this has made an appearance in this Journal. All ready for my journalling. If you stalk your local Post Office, you'll find the little Air Mail stamps for free. The Washi Tape at the bottom of the left page is an appropriate happy find :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xMehv8hpWlE/WROwZv2wS4I/AAAAAAAAEtY/EPT1V64wOmUc1uTdjpkfubcQVoUu3lhuQCEw/s1600/Journal%2B4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xMehv8hpWlE/WROwZv2wS4I/AAAAAAAAEtY/EPT1V64wOmUc1uTdjpkfubcQVoUu3lhuQCEw/s400/Journal%2B4.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This "Today was" card is also compliments of Lizzy Hill. She was kind enough to send me a beautiful hand-made folder full of fun travel embellishments. A lot of them will be coming with me and the remainder will await my return for our travel album.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eFUeRT9rB_0/WROwZJRBfkI/AAAAAAAAEtY/JWgrWhGKOuQrw9BywZxvuMlBY0Bu1aNBgCEw/s1600/Journal%2B5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eFUeRT9rB_0/WROwZJRBfkI/AAAAAAAAEtY/JWgrWhGKOuQrw9BywZxvuMlBY0Bu1aNBgCEw/s400/Journal%2B5.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The remainder of the Journal is decorated similar to this. I plan on filling the pages with ephemera and maybe a few of my thoughts and discoveries.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, a little bit about the HP "Sprocket"....but first a couple of pics of the small stash that I'm taking with me. These fit perfectly into a plastic zip folder from Office Works. The only thing that doesn't fit is my small pencil case containing a couple of good pens, black and a few coloured sharpies, and a couple of tiny Kaisercraft ink pads. This folder is slightly bigger than A4 and once closed with everything in it has a width of 4cm, so it won't be taking up much space in my carry-on bag.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
I wanted to share with you this fun little sticky-note pad I found at Office Works. I'm looking forward to adding some words to this little beauty!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-loEeSI49LJk/WRO3T2w9FAI/AAAAAAAAEtk/RFshHeh03CUBKSWFqNTfj6_Ql1I-H6CxwCLcB/s1600/DSC05324.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-loEeSI49LJk/WRO3T2w9FAI/AAAAAAAAEtk/RFshHeh03CUBKSWFqNTfj6_Ql1I-H6CxwCLcB/s400/DSC05324.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Now onto the game-changer! I originally was going to leave space in my Journal to stick photos in after our trip. However recently I happened upon an advert for the HP Sprocket. Very timely I must say because this wonderful little machine prints 2"x3" photos directly from a phone app using NO INK! Yes you read it here! I have no idea how that even works but the App also allows you to edit your photos and play around with them. Now you're thinking why on earth I'd want to cart around a photo printer while travelling. Well here's the thing....this little printer is the same size as my iphone, maybe a tad thicker! I know right!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LeyktfG57Yg/WRO3UNAA75I/AAAAAAAAEto/RpSLeLw9_DM5-ESnmNRfJz5NJyObHmTlgCLcB/s1600/DSC05326.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LeyktfG57Yg/WRO3UNAA75I/AAAAAAAAEto/RpSLeLw9_DM5-ESnmNRfJz5NJyObHmTlgCLcB/s400/DSC05326.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
It comes with a pack of paper and I have purchased a couple more. The paper is a tad on the expensive side but I won't be using a lot of it. The photo quality isn't perfect but great for just adding a few significant pics into my Journal whilst travelling.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fqLMWt40wrI/WRO3W8h55aI/AAAAAAAAEtw/xL4YamIeSjA4iDOKUv5wYybMtSFK81dlgCLcB/s1600/DSC05327.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fqLMWt40wrI/WRO3W8h55aI/AAAAAAAAEtw/xL4YamIeSjA4iDOKUv5wYybMtSFK81dlgCLcB/s400/DSC05327.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
All that is required is to charge it up with the included cord, insert the paper (there are instructions on YouTube), download the App and it's ready to go. Oh and I forgot to mention that the photo paper has adhesive backing! So all I have to do is print off a couple of pics that I've taken that day & stick them in my Journal when I sit down to write. It fits perfectly in this hard-shell pencil case I found at Woolworths, along with my phone charger (I have stored the extra photo paper underneath the Sprocket). Again, this won't take up much space in my carry-on. As a side note, call me old-fashioned but I still use an actual camera. I can't get the best quality from photos taken on my phone when I want to enlarge them so my little trusty point & shoot will be making this trip with us again.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mWgXsbbwPk4/WRO3XjZJVKI/AAAAAAAAEt0/DY3rukkt2tEfcDC1q8KzprOtoClP1x77wCLcB/s1600/DSC05328.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mWgXsbbwPk4/WRO3XjZJVKI/AAAAAAAAEt0/DY3rukkt2tEfcDC1q8KzprOtoClP1x77wCLcB/s400/DSC05328.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
So there you have it, all my Travel Journalling requirements are sorted. I suppose I need to pack clothes too, but hey! priorities people!<br />
<br />
Until next time, take care xxJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-22393340332832030032017-05-09T09:06:00.000+10:002017-05-09T09:06:47.052+10:00A little Thank You creativityHello and welcome back. I'm sharing with you today a Thank You card that I made last week for a special request. I pulled out some of my old Stampin' Up! stash and started to play. Gosh I forgot how many nice SU stamps sets that I have and barely use. <br />
<br />
This one is from the "Postage Due" stamp set. I'm not sure if it's still available. I had pulled this one out recently to use the little postage stamps that come with it for my travel journal that I'm currently working on and realised that I hadn't used the main image of this set for a long time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-syCWOVP3Uhk/WRD3OMKx2pI/AAAAAAAAEsw/20dNZpu3o1E8efBSryg1sXkOYr2Mn3VrQCLcB/s1600/DSC05314.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="370" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-syCWOVP3Uhk/WRD3OMKx2pI/AAAAAAAAEsw/20dNZpu3o1E8efBSryg1sXkOYr2Mn3VrQCLcB/s400/DSC05314.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I've used four different stamps on this card along with "Island Indigo" and "Daffodil Delight" inks also from Stampin' Up! I did a Rock'n Rollin'n technique with the ink and I really love the colour combination and the effect that it gave me. The other stamps that I used are: Perfectly Penned, French Foliage (my absolute favourite that I use regularly) and Feels Good (image below).<br />
The Flair "You lift me up" is from D-lish Scraps.<br />
<br />
I made this card a 6"x 6" because there were going to be a quite a few people signing it so I left the right inside of the card blank for all the signatures and stamped a sentiment to the left inside of the card so they didn't have to struggle with writing on a bulking surface.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6HQnWwIrBOk/WRD3Nxd5_yI/AAAAAAAAEss/fEUYAScMA-wdD6hzaQbPUuzmLLGIvQS4QCLcB/s1600/DSC05315.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="348" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6HQnWwIrBOk/WRD3Nxd5_yI/AAAAAAAAEss/fEUYAScMA-wdD6hzaQbPUuzmLLGIvQS4QCLcB/s400/DSC05315.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I loved this colour combo and technique so much that I also made a few tiny Thank You cards to take away on our o/s trip to give to our river cruise room attendants (they really spoil us!).<br />
<br />
I was going to post a couple of photos on the progress of my travel journal here today, however it would have helped if I'd actually taken the photos.....oops. So I'll be back soon. Take care xxJohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17472922348769070501noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956186785619864285.post-7050327308291433532017-05-06T10:31:00.001+10:002017-05-06T10:34:17.509+10:00Creative Kit Club - May<br />

It's quite a busy time leading up to Easter. It's the busiest and most crowded time of the year in my home town. Finding a car park is like winning the lottery! The Autumn weather is beautiful and the town and countryside is looking magnificent, so no wonder everyone from near and far want to visit over the four day Easter break. We'll be playing host to our visiting family, so we are all very excited to be spending time together. I'm hoping to get some great photos too! They've been few and far between of late :( In the meantime I've been experimenting with a project I've been wanting to do for a while now. A work colleague of mine is due to have her baby very soon and I wanted to make an explosion box for her. This is my first attempt and I must say it was lots of fun (once I figured out the correct lid dimensions and how to embellish it).<br />
<br />
I found the box measurements on Pinterest, decided on the colour scheme (as I don't know if the baby will be a blue or a pink). I then cut, embossed and die cut the base for the inside of the box.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Czsxs4FW2KA/WO2E7oWu7RI/AAAAAAAAErY/83M-DptVQJwdd8X8lAsbbEXVenSRcJ2OQCLcB/s1600/DSC05238.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="356" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Czsxs4FW2KA/WO2E7oWu7RI/AAAAAAAAErY/83M-DptVQJwdd8X8lAsbbEXVenSRcJ2OQCLcB/s400/DSC05238.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The lid was a bit trickier because the measurements from Pinterest weren't correct and squashed the box up too much when closed so I had to re-jig the measurements. Sorry about the dappled light from my window.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gd2HGy_fRAw/WO2E7DyyZJI/AAAAAAAAErU/W7LogLQl1iAw3sUpshspTMfaWqkxHWAlACLcB/s1600/DSC05239.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gd2HGy_fRAw/WO2E7DyyZJI/AAAAAAAAErU/W7LogLQl1iAw3sUpshspTMfaWqkxHWAlACLcB/s400/DSC05239.JPG" width="386" /></a></div>
<br />
So let the fun and games begin! I found some quotes online and typed them up onto some Bazzil cardstock and die cut them with a circle die that would fit nicely in the middle of the doily die cuts. I chose some wooden embellies, flowers, leaf sprigs and flourishes and played around with them until I was happy with the arrangement. The wooden heart was covered in paper and the "cherish" word was coated in a Viva Perlen-Pen in White Ice.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yp29lAUiOxE/WO2FzbuJEkI/AAAAAAAAErk/cpZZoVgNL6sNaSUChNsgZHkQdLTAfqM_wCLcB/s1600/DSC05240.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="382" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yp29lAUiOxE/WO2FzbuJEkI/AAAAAAAAErk/cpZZoVgNL6sNaSUChNsgZHkQdLTAfqM_wCLcB/s400/DSC05240.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Then it was time to glue everything in place and decorate the lid. I don't have a lot of baby-themed embellishments (well actually I have zero baby-themed embellies, only stamps) so I just went with flowers and leaves.<br />
<br />
I'm not sure who are the authors of these quotes, so I'm unable to give credit but will rectify when I find out who they are.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P7Szyt8BztU/WO2HIWVRJII/AAAAAAAAEr0/3emXWo-CyTw4AKtXO8dVDHTe1WgbAMKUQCLcB/s1600/DSC05243.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P7Szyt8BztU/WO2HIWVRJII/AAAAAAAAEr0/3emXWo-CyTw4AKtXO8dVDHTe1WgbAMKUQCLcB/s400/DSC05243.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QGSp_WQjNpw/WO2HIcW-JyI/AAAAAAAAErw/n1dya_Xoxz4O2dDJ_ll4huEDM1itQ-j2wCLcB/s1600/DSC05244.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QGSp_WQjNpw/WO2HIcW-JyI/AAAAAAAAErw/n1dya_Xoxz4O2dDJ_ll4huEDM1itQ-j2wCLcB/s400/DSC05244.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WPF1y6wsd78/WO2HISIONdI/AAAAAAAAEr4/hYUz6GfxQT0y67eXmq6aPuoUwY3sGTJGACLcB/s1600/DSC05247.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WPF1y6wsd78/WO2HISIONdI/AAAAAAAAEr4/hYUz6GfxQT0y67eXmq6aPuoUwY3sGTJGACLcB/s400/DSC05247.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DPJnxeoZUv4/WO2HJzdn6XI/AAAAAAAAEr8/y2VGp7mJB0wyHcQZqkc5kMU8eR0jOCfEwCLcB/s1600/DSC05248.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DPJnxeoZUv4/WO2HJzdn6XI/AAAAAAAAEr8/y2VGp7mJB0wyHcQZqkc5kMU8eR0jOCfEwCLcB/s400/DSC05248.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I had a little box that I was given at a baby-shower a few years ago that I saved (of course!). It fitted perfectly in the centre of the explosion box. I cut the top off it, wrapped a little yellow ribbon around it and bought a tiny pair of bunny socks to fill the smaller box.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OOw6-gwn_Xs/WO2HpYU0TmI/AAAAAAAAEsA/DJo_CadkAx47D_2sO86hiMB8VEk-RDteQCLcB/s1600/DSC05242.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OOw6-gwn_Xs/WO2HpYU0TmI/AAAAAAAAEsA/DJo_CadkAx47D_2sO86hiMB8VEk-RDteQCLcB/s400/DSC05242.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I love how the bunny is poking its head out :)<br />
<br />
I hot-glued a satin ribbon to the bottom of the box then tied it around the whole thing to keep the lid from falling off.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-24oqCFKda9Y/WO2IPJ_X65I/AAAAAAAAEsI/Tx7S9hdDLjMV5V59eUB0G3JwBwpYQWvwgCLcB/s1600/DSC05250.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-24oqCFKda9Y/WO2IPJ_X65I/AAAAAAAAEsI/Tx7S9hdDLjMV5V59eUB0G3JwBwpYQWvwgCLcB/s400/DSC05250.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All in all there were quite a few hours work in this, but only because I was unsure of what I was doing. I'll be doing another one of these very soon all going to plan, so stay tuned. Thanks for dropping by xx</div>

Firstly I want to show you the circles that were orginally white paper. I used some water colour paints on them and I think they've come up at treat! The little Flutterby Design's Flair is perfect for this page. As we know, it takes a brave warrior to be a teacher :D<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fMjpeMXUTuo/WOMz9C5Fr2I/AAAAAAAAEq0/Bm4vGE1EWeMVy9M9SQUbUfM9iFuNVrTfQCLcB/s1600/DSC05231.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fMjpeMXUTuo/WOMz9C5Fr2I/AAAAAAAAEq0/Bm4vGE1EWeMVy9M9SQUbUfM9iFuNVrTfQCLcB/s400/DSC05231.JPG" width="293" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A recent photo of our DD in her classroom with a work colleague, after hours as usual, constructing Easter hats for her students to decorate the next day. Dedication plus!!!! The Flair sums it up completely :D</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I love this next filler card as well. A map of the World for our travel obsessed off-spring. And I found the little Tim Holtz sticker quote to add to it. Perfect for her chosen vocation.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
There is some journalling on the this page as well along with a photo with her students which I won't show here. I'm having a lot of fun with this Kit and it's so colourful. I don't know why it's taken me so long to use it.<br />
