Sisterhood weekend inspo...

Just popping back as promised to share the other two layouts that I completed on our recent fabulous mountain Retreat. This first page is from a class that I commenced at the Create By The Lake Retreat back in July. This was a class taught by the beautiful Lauren Hender using lots of colourful Flutterby Designs products and multiple photos....eeek! I thought that the only way I was going to get this finished was to complete it for the challenge set by Lizzy Hill at last weekend's Retreat, criteria: use at least 4 photos. So here 'tis:

Just check out the beautiful Flutterby Designs Flair and wooden embellies! Soooo gorg!

This was really out of my comfort zone with the bright colours and multiple photos, but Lauren's design was very easy to achieve. Happily I think I'm becoming more comfortable with using lots of bright colours :)

The second layout that I finished whilst away was a challenge set by Mary Bennetts, criteria: use a song lyric or quote somewhere on the layout.  I chose this lovely quote by Carson McCullers, however at the time of printing the photo I had no idea who the author was, hence why it states "Unknown" on the photo, but happily I've since found out.   "We are torn between nostalgia for the familiar and an urge for the foreign and strange. As often as not, we are homesick most for the places we have never known."  This is one of my favourite travel quotes, and I have many in my collection :)

This is another travel photo of DD on her recent trip to Thailand. Gee I hope she keeps travelling so I can keep scrapbooking! :D or better still, I hope I can keep travelling!

I covered the title with Pearl Pen. The papers are a mixture of G45, Echo Park, Stampin up with a bit of hessian thrown in. The lovely wooden compass is from Kaisercraft.

So that's it for the moment. Thanks for dropping by once again and I'll be back next week with the new Paper Flourish October Kit Club projects.

  1. I am also challenged with brights and multiple photo's, but you have created a beautiful layout, those flairs are gorgeous ! My fave would have to be the travel layout though, it is just beautiful. Love the quote and how you have printed it on the photo, your colour palette and the photo on a angel, LOVE it

  2. Two fab layouts Jo... Your weekend away with the girls looked fabulous. SO jealous. Glad you managed to get stuff done. One of the reasons that I don't like single layouts is that they often only have one photo and that is such a waste for me. I like to use loads of photos on both singles and doubles I think that is why I love PL... the top one is gorgeous with all that fabulous colour too. Sometimes it is nice to go out of your comfort zone - we often find things that we love :D The travel layout is just so pretty and I love that quote too. Perfect.

  3. Isn't it just the best thing to gather with your tribe and play? Love a scrappy retreat with some like minded addicts! Glad you got the multiple photo layout finished, even though it was outside your comfort zone. I share your passion for travel and collecting travel quotes. The title of your travel page is perfect, as is the map background. TFS
