Scrap Around The World June Challenge

Hello again! Can you tell that I'm having a break from work this week? I thought it would be a good use of my time to start this month's challenges. I'm really enjoying the challenges over at the brand new challenge site Scrap Around The World  The standard of some of the entries from Australia and overseas is amazing and very inspirational. Not only is there a sketch to get you started but there is also a mood board for your inspiration. Here is this months:

Recently I acquired some old cameras from my Mum when she was having a clean up. One of them is my Dad's old slide camera - very state-of-the-art for its time. One of the other two cameras was my Grandmothers so it is very special to me and I took a couple of pics of them, planning to scrap about them soon. When I saw the mood board for this challenge it was perfect for the photos that I'd taken of the cameras.

So my inspiration for this layout was the cameras (obviously), but I was also inspired by the vintage camera sitting on the old books. So here is what I came up with:

I've used a background technique that the lovely Kim Ewins taught me not long ago (thanks Kim) using texture paste and I've sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. I'm really happy with how this turned out.

I love the Tim Holtz film strips and that I finally found a use for the camera and film strip washi tape. Thanks for calling in. Until next time....
