December White With 1 Challenge

Hi all, I hope you all had a truly wonderful Christmas. While the rest of the family are relaxing, watching the cricket and getting over their food hangovers, I tend to get a bit stir-crazy when I don't get to do any creating. I was really pleased with my dinner table decorations this year, using a purple/white/silver colour theme. Everyone loved how elegant it all looked. This is my entry in the December Challenge at www.whitewith1.blogspot.com
I must admit that I'm not really a purple fan but I loved the tone with the white & silver. I've used the decorations (silver snowflakes & pearls) that were attached to our bon bons & punched the star shapes from the bon bon cardstock. I also sprayed the glitter title with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. The white lace punched strips are the actual serviette holders that I'd made. The white "Merry Christmas" ribbon was wrapped around a gift that I received. The pretty doily, christmas tree & ticket were given to me by my creative friend www.annetteedmonds.blogspot.com (thanks Annette!), which I altered a tad. So all up, a lot of the embellies were recycled.
Anyhoo, thanks for dropping by. Enjoy the rest of your week :)

Christmas in Rothenburg

I just remembered I was going to share with you this pic I found of the magnificent Christmas Shop (probably the largest in Europe) we visited earlier in the year whilst in Rothenburg, Germany. Pete had to literally drag me out of it otherwise I would have spent the whole day in there instead of exploring this beautiful medieval town. This shop is made up of dozens of "rooms" in different themes & colours. As you can see in this room is  made to look like a village with Xmas stalls. As you enter the shop you can see the tip of this tree & as you get closer you have to descend a staircase where the sheer brilliance & size of the tree reveals itself. It took my breath away. All the staff are dressed in traditional costume too. I did manage to purchase a few trinkets at least, but this tree needs to be seen to appreciate the sheer size of it. Hope you feel all fuzzy inside like I do when I look at this pic :)

Last challenge entry for 2011...I think

Good morning all, this is my entry for the fortnightly challenge over at www.scrapboxx.com.au  The wonderful Julie Winks set us a challenge that didn't need too much brain power, being the silly season 'n all, & knowing how busy everybody is at the mo. The only criteria was that we use the world "celebrate" or a form of it. Even so, I did step out of my comfort zone a bit for this one by not using any pps in the background but instead I dug out the old paint tubes again. I have used an old stash of glitter-embossed paper for the stars which I thought worked well with the glittery letters. Anyway, my precious princess, China, was a willing participant for a Christmas photo shoot (she's an old hand now), however her off-sider (she who shan't be named) pulled her reindeer antlers off & chewed them before I could get a good pic (typical staffy!). Now I must off & finishing making the pressie I was working on yesterday. I'll post a pic when I'm done with it. Thanks for calling in xx

The mojo is overflowing!

My mojo seems to be at an all time high right now, must be the silly season hitting me finally. I've been wanting to replace our front door wreath but haven't been able to find anything suitable that I won't have to mortgage the house for. So I've cased this from the very talented Emma Allan in the latest Scrapbooking Memories Mag. As usual I thought I'd bitten off more than I can chew, but this honestly took about 2 hours to make. I've used some cheap generic paper because I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but next year I'll use some better quality, double sided paper. I've added some berries to brighten it up a bit & sprayed it all over with some glimmer mist (it's quite shimmery IRL). I was quite pleased with how it has turned out given that it's my "prototype". The beauty of this is that you can change the colour theme each year if you'd like because the curly paper is only stuck on to a styrofoam ring with pins. I hope you like it & please feel free to leave some feedback.

Whilst still in holiday mode...

What else can one do on a rainy Sunday? so I went through my holiday pics & found this one of me making the most of the beautiful day bed in our little holiday cottage. A cup of tea, a scrapbooking mag & a sleep is my idea of R&R :)  I've used the lovely Stampin' Up! Beau Chateau pp & the matching fabric (flower & rooster embelly). This is a "touchy-feely" layout with all the fabric on it. It's hard to see in the photo but I've sprayed a bit of Tattered Angels dazzling diamonds glimmer mist around as well. TFL xx

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas......

Hi once again, I seem to be on a bit of a roll at the mo, don't know why.....must be the lousy weather making me want to stay indoors & create. This is my entry in the December challenge over at www.scrapthatsong.blogspot.com  This is one of my fave Chrissy songs & I find myself humming it where ever I go. It has the knack of putting me in a good mood. I wasn't happy with the colours in the photo so I tweeked it a bit & I wanted to make the red bauble the focus. It's sad when the kids are grown up & aren't around to help decorate the tree, it doesn't have quite the same magic, but Mr Buble' helped me through it :)
Thanks for dropping by.

There's nothing like.....

a summer escape just before Christmas. There are very few holiday makers (except for a few well-behaved schoolies), you get to do your Chrissy shopping & relax at the same time....which puts you in the mood for the silly season, so it's a win/win situation :) Here is my page for the December Sketch Challenge over at www.scrapboxx.com.au thanks to the wonderfully talented Helen Wallace.  I usually struggle with bright colours, but when my lovely Boxx friend annetteedmonds.blogspot.com gave me the beautiful died lace & doilies I knew straight away that they belonged on a summer/beach page, so this project ended up being easier than I first thought.

Hope this puts you in the mood for summer :) TFL

Getting down to business...

'Well here I am back from a wonderfully relaxing break. And just in time for the Stampin' Up! December Frenzy sale too, check it out at www3.stampinup.com/au/ena !

Check out our "room with a view"....hmmmm...... 6 days of total relaxation. Anyway, down to business....

I'll be placing orders this Friday, 9th December. The SUMMER MINI CATALOGUE is also out now - very exciting as there are some lovely new products to play with, especially the make-your-own jewellery. Drop me a line by 5pm Thursday if you'd like to place an order (I can ship your goodies to anywhere in Australia direct from the warehouse). If hubbie/off-spring/siblings/parents are wondering what to get you for Christmas, remember to let them know that I have GIFT VOUCHERS available.

I've been so busy making cards for other people & making parent "thank you" gifts for Elise, that I haven't had time to make my own Chrissy cards :(  eek!   I still have a week or so to get them made & sent haven't I?????
Anyway, thanks for dropping by & I'd love it if you could leave some sugar in the comments section.
