Love is in the air....

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I last posted here. Sharing with you today an Engagement card that I made for our daughter. Yes! our Girl and her man are getting married....excitement plus!

A labour of love this one :)  This is my attempt at Champagne glasses. The lovely wood veneer heart is from D-lish which I've painted, misted and added touches of Gold embossing. I think I may be getting the "Wedding Stationery" Gig.... but no pressure of course :D

This lovely surprise came along not long after the happy couples' shared "big" birthday and of course I whipped out the stash once again for that celebration.

I just love this Kaisercraft Collection. It's so versatile and pretty.

So the silly season is upon us and along with that comes the extreme heat. Luckily I'm trying to acclimatise for an upcoming Asian adventure, so I should be used to it by the time Christmas arrives.

If you're in the Northern Hemisphere stay warm and cosy and for everyone else keep cool! I wish you all a very happy Christmas and lots of happiness and good health for 2018.

Uniquely Creative's Creative Kit Club

Apologies for my blog absence but life has been keeping me a tad busy of late. One of the creative jobs I've been doing has been for Uniquely Creative. Tracey very kindly asked me back to the Team for October as a Guest Designer, so I thought I would share with you what I came up with from one of the very generous Kits for this month.

It was really nice to be creating a couple of 12x12 layouts this time as well as a few cards. The Kaisercraft papers in this Kit are stunning! I chose to use a couple of photos from one of the many Chateau that we were lucky enough to visit on our recent trip to France.

Included in this Kit is the laser-cut brick work which went perfectly with my theme.  I actually went on this tour on my own, because DH wanted to do a different tour this day. I had such a lovely time wandering and exploring on my own. The gardens here are magnifique!

Check out the Collectables and pretty flowers that are included in this Kit!

For this next layout I really wanted the photo to be the star so I kept the embellishments to a minimum and concentrated mainly on what I love to do and that is to "cluster".  This building is just at the entrance to the same Chateau and it is the first thing visitors see as they cross the ancient old stone bridge over the moat. I love how the building is reflected in the water.

And here are a couple of cards I made with this Kit as well, with lots and lots of product left over.

So this is what has been keeping me busy plus prepping for an upcoming creative weekend away with the Sisterhood...can't wait for that to happen :)   I hope you get a chance to hop on over to the Uniquely Creative site and check out this amazing Kit. xx

A little Thank You creativity

Hello and welcome back. I'm sharing with you today a Thank You card that I made last week for a special request. I pulled out some of my old Stampin' Up! stash and started to play. Gosh I forgot how many nice SU stamps sets that I have and barely use.

This one is from the "Postage Due" stamp set. I'm not sure if it's still available. I had pulled this one out recently to use the little postage stamps that come with it for my travel journal that I'm currently working on and realised that I hadn't used the main image of this set for a long time.

I've used four different stamps on this card along with "Island Indigo" and "Daffodil Delight" inks also from Stampin' Up!  I did a Rock'n Rollin'n technique with the ink and I really love the colour combination and the effect that it gave me.  The other stamps that I used are: Perfectly Penned, French Foliage (my absolute favourite that I use regularly) and Feels Good (image below).
The Flair "You lift me up" is from D-lish Scraps.

I made this card a 6"x 6" because there were going to be a quite a few people signing it so I left the right inside of the card blank for all the signatures and stamped a sentiment to the left inside of the card so they didn't have to struggle with writing on a bulking surface.

I loved this colour combo and technique so much that I also made a few tiny Thank You cards to take away on our o/s trip to give to our river cruise room attendants (they really spoil us!).

I was going to post a couple of photos on the progress of my travel journal here today, however it would have helped if I'd actually taken the photos.....oops. So I'll be back soon. Take care xx

Wedding Card Inspo...

I'm back again today to share with you a couple of cards that I made upon request from a work colleague. It's been yonks since I made a wedding card, so this was truly a labour of love.

For the first one I went with understated elegance. White with a light grey ribbon and silver heat embossed sentiment.

The second card is a tad more detailed. The Bride & Groom are heat embossed with black embossing powder. I've used the Kaisercraft window die. The sentiment is also heat embossed with Stampin' Up! Pool Party embossing powder.

This was quite a bit of fun today, so much that I feel the need to do more! :D  Thanks for looking xx

Wildflower....Uniquely Creative March Kit

Hello fellow crafters, welcome back. Just a quick post today to share with you the cards that I created for the current Uniquely Creative Kit. I'm sure most of you have already seen these either on FB or on the Uniquely Creative website. However, I have a confession to make...when I first received these papers I really wasn't sure about them. I absolutely love water colours but I'm always hesitant to use pastel colours only because I don't think I do them the justice that they deserve. Having said that, I jumped in and now I'm happily in love with how soft and pretty these colours are! I have gained some confidence and have made a pact with myself to use more of these colours in future projects.

So here are the cards that you'll find in the current catalogue which you'll receive with your March Kit.

And I thought I'd experiment with incorporating black with Pastels. Very happy with the outcome! :)

Thanks for looking xx

Romance is in the air

Well hello my fellow paper crafters. Who doesn't love a celebration of love! I forgot to share with you an Engagement Card that I made recently for my Niece (and Goddaughter) and her Fiance'. I must say that I very rarely do Engagement/Wedding cards so this was such a joy to make. Luckily I didn't have to mail it out. I really love this colour combo with the soft aqua and cream.

The flowers for the hearts were a rosette ribbon, but I cut them all individually to fit inside the heart shape and around the aqua resin rose.

A little embossing and pearl hearts.

I absolutely adore this lace that I've been saving for a special project and I'm so glad I was able to incorporate it on this card.

Thanks for dropping by. I do hope you are having a wonderful week xx

Ubud Dreams January Creative Kit

Well hello again and welcome back.  It's been a while since my last blog update but I tend to get a bit crazy and lazy over the Christmas and New Year period. I can't wait to share with you the new Kit from Uniquely Creative for January. Oh my goodness!! This Kit is I think now my new favourite. The Colours! The patterns! Be still my beating heart :D   How about I just get on with it.....

Can you see what I mean about the wonderful colours?  This is one of the cards that I created with the Ubud Dreams Kit. Simple yet effective and you will find the instructions for this in the Kit. And the add-on Die is to, well....die for :D

And I don't like waste so I used the negative from the above die cut for my next card.

I just love the tiled paper pattern.

In this Kit you will get some gorgeous little glass tiles and a pretty ombre ink pad. This is one of the cards I made using them plus the lovely add-on stamp set.

The Collectables in this Kit are truly beautiful and versatile.

So that's just a small snippet of what you'll find in this KIT. I've been finding it tough of late getting my creative mojo happening but I can't wait for the weekend so that I can grab some photos to create a 12x12 layout with this. And hopefully post the result here for you to see.

PS. These photos don't do justice to the colours in this Kit. You need to see it IRL.

Thanks again for looking xx

Uniquely Creative November Creative Kit Club

Welcome back all!  Another month has rolled around and here it is...the November release of the Uniquely Creative Kit (Note: new website). This month you'll find in your Kit a stunning array of fun, bright products. Here is just a few of the cards that you'll be able to create with this Kit.

Lots of fun colours for birthdays or any type of celebration in this Kaisercraft Party Time Kit.

These colours were very much out of my comfort zone, but once I started working with them it became very easy and lots of fun.

In the Kit you will find a full colour magazine with the instructions for some of these cards plus photos and instructions from all the other Designers.  Here is a Twist and Fold card that was taught to me by one of my dear Slipperhood Sisters, Cheryl O'Brien.

The middle folds out for you to pop in some photos or sentiments for any occasions.

Then folds back up into a neat card-size.  Gotta love that!

Don't forget to call into the Paper Flourish FB page or their Shop and have a look at this very pretty Kit.

Thanks for calling in and I hope you get a chance to play with this stunning Kit. I'm currently trying to get my Christmas Mojo happening, but it appears to be quite elusive. Cards to be made and time is flying. So until next time...xx

A vintage card with a modern twist using Colour Blast Colour Paste and a cute little stencil from Flutterby Designs.

PAPER FLOURISH July Kit Club Release

Good morning and welcome back. I'm finding it hard to get my head around the fact that it is the Release date again for the PAPER FLOURISH July Kit Club. But time is marching on at an increased rate and all we can do is hang on and try to keep up. I feel so privileged to be on the Design Team for Paper Flourish. Not only because Tracey and her Team are super organised ladies, but they do an amazing job in sourcing and collating the best products for the Paper Flourish Kits. This month is no exception and when I recieved all the goodies in this Kit to play with well it was like Christmas! I am so in awe of how beautiful this kit is and I want to share it with you here today.

Here are the cards that I made from this Kit, but I have so much left over that I'll be creating some 12 x 12 pages with it very soon.

This is a fun little easel card. The pack of "Collectables" that come in the kit are perfect for this style of card.

The new Kaisercraft Doily Die is so pretty and great for layering (large doily poking out from behind the top layer).

Check out the roses in this collection! Perfect for vintage projects.

There is also a new Kaisercraft Hexagon stitched die available which I've used on this card. I distressed them a fair bit and then layered them. How pretty is this paper!

I can't wait to play with this Kit some more, so stay tuned :)  For all the details go check out the PAPER FLOURISH JULY KIT CLUB

Thanks for calling in xx
