The Paper Players #129

Happy Hump Day everyone! I've been having trouble getting on with the challenges this month, mainly because I've been busy designing/researching my Creation Station "do-over", as well as working & trying to spend as much time with my girl before she leaves, I haven't achieved as much as I've wanted to over the last  few weeks. But there will be plenty of "me" time very soon so I'm sure I'll catch up.

Anyway, I did quickly make this card this morning for the challenge over at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com.au/  It is a "clean & simple" sketch challenge & right up my alley at the moment, so here 'tis:

I've used the lovely Perfectly Penned & Aviary stamp sets, Melon Mambo & Taken with Teal inks, Framed Tulips embossing folder, Regal Rose ribbon & Whisper White & Regal Rose c/stock.  Thanks for looking & hopefully I'll get a layout or two uploaded soon. xx

The Paper Players #128

Well hello on this stinking hot January day. The only thing for it is to crank up the air con & call into my Creation Station. The thing I love about The Paper Players http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com.au/ is they give the kick start that I am usually in much need of. So here is the current challenge:

And here is the birthday card I made for my Dad. Love this colour combo!

I really enjoyed this creating this card. Thanks for dropping by once again. Have a great weekend xx

Peace on Earth 2012

Thought I'd better get some Christmas photos scrapped because 364 days go very fast & next thing you know it'll be here again. I didn't get many people shots this year, so I've scrapped our decorations. I've had this Christmas kit in my stash since the last Scrap Girls "Christmas in July" Retreat. Very pretty papers I must say which are from s.e.i. holiday hoopla collection & all the other bits & bobs were included in the kit except for the corrugated stars & red ribbon & the small alphas are from my own stash but the large ones were in the kit & are Basic Grey.

I've gone for clean lines on this page & it was quite a challenge not to distress everything. Don't you just love the little chippy gift box?
Thanks for dropping by once again xx

Scrap the Boys January Challenge

Hidey Ho everyone! I hope you are able to stay in out of the heat but I know that by the very nature of their work it is sometimes impossible for some people (e.g. my DH) & therefore must carry on in all weather conditions. But the upside of being indoors is that my creativeness has taken over & I've managed to complete a few projects of late. This one is for this month's challenge over at Scrap the Boys - http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/  I must admit that I have always had issues with masculine pages but of late I've been forced to come up with quite a few of these pages & the challenges over at Scrap the Boys always help me get the ball rolling.

This months challenge is to feature my Son's favourite Holiday/Summer activity. And once again I am featuring pics from our recent beach break. I got a tad excited about using some bright, summery colours again.

The cardstock is Pool Party & Island Indigo from Stampin' Up! Some of PPs & title are from Simple Stories which I had left over from a project I made at the Brisbane Expo, the ribbons & buttons are from CRAFT QUEEN http://www.craftqueen.com.au which I have some exciting news about very shortly :) Arrows are Maya Road & all the other embellies are handmade by yours truly, plus a little bit of stamping.

The other exciting news for me is that I'll be doing a major make-over of my scrapbooking room very soon, so I've been trawling the internet for ideas & appropriate furniture - not as easy as it sounds - but I can't wait to get stuck into it as my room at the mo is a mish mash of second hand desks/drawers etc which don't match along with spare mattresses & some of our DDs boxes from her Uni days that still haven't found a home. So all of that will be going.....yay! and hopefully I'll have a more stream-lined, uncluttered creation station.

However, on the down side, the reason why I'm going to be able to do this is because my darling girl is moving out :( and not only moving out, but moving to the other side of the world....sob (I know! could she get any further away from home??!!!!). So we'll have another spare room to fill with all her "stuff", leaving me with a completely dedicated scrap room. And of course our darling boy will also being heading back to ADF training in a few short weeks as well so we will be "empty nesters" & I must say I'm already not liking it. I mean really....what are DH & I going to talk about now given the fact that we haven't been on our own for any length of time for the last 25 years! The kids have both moved out of home for short periods of time separately over the recent years & then returned, but not both at the same time really. Everyone tells me that we'll get used to it & I am making sure we have lots of plans/adventures to look forward to this year just to take my mind off the changes in our lives. Anyway I'll keep you up to date on my scrap room make-over.

Thanks for dropping by & enjoy the rest of your week xx

White with 1 January Challenge

Happy New Year everyone!
I hope 2013 is bigger & better than ever for you all. I started the new year off with a mini getaway to the beach with my family. It is becoming increasingly difficult for us all to be together at the one time these days & family holidays will now be a thing of the past for quite a while. But I won't dwell on that as I will be a blubbering mess if I think too long on the changes in our lives that this year will bring.

So the challenge over at http://whitewith1.blogspot.com.au/ for this month is White + Aqua + Red + Summer photo, and seeing as I just returned from our beach break I had the appropriate pic to go with this challenge. I love this colour combo....

And a couple of closies:

The little chippie beach hut & fence are from 2Crafty & the flowers are Prima.
Thanks for being the first to call in for 2013 :)xx
