The Paper Players #123

Good morning! My DD asked me to make a few "special" Christmas cards for her to give out & when I saw the new sketch challenge over at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com.au/ it was the perfect sketch for what I had in mind. I love this tulle from Stampin' Up! because it's so soft & easy to work with & of course I'm still of my Pool Party/Glitter/Kraft fetish :)

It's a bit hard to tell in this pic but the tree is is covered with glitter & the mat behind the pool party c/s is glitter as well. Looks more effective IRL. Click on the pic for a closer look. Thanks for dropping by xx

The Orange Paperie & Co Challenge

Hi again all! Just popping in to upload my entry for the November challenge over at http://www.orangepaperieandco.blogspot.com.au/  This is the inspo:

And this is my take.  I spent quite a lot of time deliberating over this page but once I got going it was completed relatively quickly, with the exception of "drying time". Please don't take offence at the weapon in this pic, but it is all a part of the training & as much as I dislike weapons of any kind, this is DS's life now & something that I have to become accustomed to. There is lots of inking, spraying & painting in this layout & I finally got around to using the rusting powder that I purchase at the Brissie Expo back in June. I really love how easy it is to get the rusting effect (see the barbed wire, toy soldier & parts of the title) & it looks better IRL. I thought the metal cogs & gum leaves were perfect for this page.

Thanks for dropping by once again I really appreciate it :)

Paper Players #122

The current challenge over at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com.au/ is to use either Gold or Silver.
For my Christmas card theme this year I'm using Pool Party, White & Silver. On this card I've used silver embossing powder & silver glitter paper which IRL really sparkles.

White, Silver & Pool Party

I've been MIA for a little while & it would be nice to say that I've been getting all the Challenges done for November, but alas I've been making Christmas Cards. I didn't realise how close we are to the Chrissy season so I went into panic mode & put my head down & bum up to get some cards ready. I've even started the Christmas shopping - bonus! Hence I have nothing to share on the Scrapbooking/Challenges side of things at the mo :(

I happily discovered that I really like Stampin' Up! Pool Party colour teamed with silver embossing, silver glitter & white. So this has become my theme for this year. Unfortunately these pics don't do them justice as the colours are more vivid & sparkly IRL.

I still have heaps to make, which I sell to the public, plus I'd like to make some tags as well but time is not my friend.  Hope you have a great week & thanks for dropping by xx

Kraft It Up! November Challenge

Well here I am again, another month, another challenge. I have so many challenges that I'd like to have a go at this month but it's looking like I won't get them all done, seeing as I haven't scrapped in nearly two weeks. So I've made a start at least with Kraft It Up!http://kraftitup.blogspot.com.au/ The challenge this month is Minimilist/White Space. Sometimes I like a lot of white space on my pages & some photos don't need a lot of embellishment. I must say that I've really outdone myself with the masculine pages of late (in need of some girly-ness at the moment) & I'm starting to find them a bit easier. So here is my take:

The big button in the corner is from Purple Pumpkin, the chippy soldier is from 2Crafty, chippy corner thingy is from Scrapmatts & cogs from Prima & Tim Holtz cog die. A bit of ink thrown around & Bob's your Uncle. Here is a closie of the quote which I thought was perfect for this pic:

Thanks for dropping by.

Playing at my creation station

Welcome to November! I thought that this month would never come around & I know I shouldn't wish for time to go quicker than it already does. But we have something very special happening in our family next week. We get to travel away to see our wonderful young man after 3 long months. Three months of the toughest time of his life, which he faced with bravery, maturity & integrity. He battled his own personal demons, passed every test & jumped through every hoop that was thrown at him & has come out the other end triumphant - a more confident & wiser young man. And I'm sure photos of my pages about this event will appear on my blog in the not too distant future. It will also be a time where some of our family will be together again for the first time in a very long time, so we are all very excited to be getting together again for our Son's very special day.
Hence I haven't scrapped at all this weekend -horror/shock!!! because we have been busy getting our garden up to date & new gates erected before we leave. But last week I had a play at my creation station & came up with some pretty little tags, for no reason at all really - just because I felt like it!

I had fun making these little tags. I inked, sprayed & dyed my heart out & now I want to make some more. A nice distraction when I'm not creating for the Challenges :)
Thanks for dropping by, have a fantastic week & good luck in picking a winner in "The Cup".
