White... with 1 & Sketchabilities

Good morning everyone, just a quick post this morning with my entry for the current combined challenges over at WHITE WITH 1 and SKETCHABILITIES.  These are two of my favourite Challenge sites, so I was very excited when they decided to collaborate for this month's challenges.

Here is the sketch from Sketchabilities:

And here is the colour challenge from White....with 1

And here is my take:

As you can see I have rotated the sketch. The chippie circle frame is from The Dusty Attic and the wood veneer (Look) and the Flair buttons are from Studio Fourteen40

The little camera has been in my stash for ages so I'm not sure where it's from.

A few days before Xmas we made the long trip to Wagga Wagga for my nieces 21st birthday party. As you can see our beautiful girl is with us again after living in the UK for the last two years, so it was a very special road trip for the four of us. I think the five and half hour drive was nearly as fun as the destination, and we all took turns in driving (and getting breathalised), playing games, singing and generally bringing our girl up to speed on all the changes since she left Oz and comparing the lifestyles of living in a different country.

I'm pretty chuffed that I was able to get this challenge done this weekend. I hope you are all enjoying your long weekend and Happy Australia Day! Stay safe xx

Having a go at Dusty Attic...

Happy Sunday everyone! I've been itching to join in on some challenges of late but haven't really had the time, but today I've set aside some DT commitments and PL projects to join in on the lovely Mood Board challenge over at THE DUSTY ATTIC.

You can choose to take your inspiration from the photo, colours or words. I chose the words & photo but ended up using most of the colours anyway.

I'm really making a concerted effort to use up my old stash this year. In this instance I've used some Kaisercraft pp and labels and some very old pp from Stampin' Up! However the chippy words are new from The Dusty Attic - Hashtag Sayings #1 and Word Pack #5.  The Flair button is from Studio Fourteen40.  I so enjoyed joining in on my first Dusty Attic challenge. Thanks for dropping by xx

One Little Word...Scrap Africa #43

Hello and welcome to another fantastic challenge at SCRAP AFRICA.  I seem to be into the swing of things again after a restful beach break. This Challenge is so much fun. If you have a word that you want to focus on for the year then this is a chance to create a permanent reminder.

I chose a quote that I found on the internet ages ago & I've been waiting for just the right page to use it on. It sums up where I'm at in my life at the moment. I'm not sure who wrote it as there was no name attached to it when I stumbled across it, but I'll give credit if I ever find out. I've used some lovely Bo Bunny "The Avenues" pp, doilies from D-lish Scraps, wood veneer from Kaisercraft and Prima.

It would be great to see your version over at the Scrap Africa blog. See you there! TFL :)

SCRAP AFRICA #42

Well hello again everyone! I hope you all had a very happy Christmas and are feeling positive about the new year. I've been a bit remiss with my blogging of late as I'm sure you can all relate to given the time of year. Once the holiday season (and my work roster) settles down I'm hoping to be able to spend more time at my creation station. In the mean time I have managed to get my DT submission done for the new Challenge at SCRAP AFRICA.  A nice and easy sketch challenge for you to see out the old year and welcome in the new.

I decided to use this sketch for a few of my Christmas decorating photos. I will also be doing this Christmas' photos in PL style and I'll post some pics of the finished product in the next few weeks. So here is the sketch:

And here is my take:

I've used some items from a kit that I purchased recently from Studio Fourteen40 - labels, sequins, stars, wood veneer "celebrate". Gold is the "in thing" in scrapbooking at the moment and I love the look for special occasions. The pp is Kaisercraft and the gold doilies, arrow paperclip & red spirals are from my D-lish Scraps stash.  I do hope you can play along with us at Scrap Africa and it's a good chance to use some of your recent holiday snaps :)

Until next time....

ARTastic January Challenge...

I was honoured to be a Guest Designer for ARTastic recently - a very inspirational Challenge Blog by the way - and when one of Jane's Design Team members stepped down from her position, Jane kindly offered the gig to me....happy days! Pop on over to ARTastic's blog and check out all the DT inspiration and how it all works. This month's challenge certainly gets the mojo flowing for the new year.

This is such a cute piece of artwork don't you think? I was inspired by the brick wall and some of the colours and also when I looked at this I felt the need to create a masculine page. So here is my take:

I used a brick stencil on the background and also some little brick-shaped chippies covered in a newspaper print. I grunged the background with some coloured texture paste and used some brick-patterned washi tape and also added a few rub-on quotes. I really like this photo of the guys, engrossed in the footy results, doing what they do best.

I'd love for you to call into the ARTastic Challenge Blog and have a go at this challenge. I'm sure there is something in this piece of artwork that inspires you.

Thanks for dropping by :) xx
