Hello everyone! Have I told you how much fun I'm having on the DT at SKETCHABILITIES? The lovely Karan Gerber is one super-organised and talented lady. Her sketches never cease to inspire me and this one should get your mojo happening for sure!
As soon as I saw this sketch I thought of a photo that my niece & her lovely partner posted on FB not long ago. So I asked our gorgeous Lara if it was okay if I used the photo for my Design Team sample for this challenge. They look so perfectly happy in this photo, I love it...
I've used a bubble stencil from Kaisercraft & texture paste for the background, then stamped over it with a script stamp, then threw a bit of mist about on it. The paper is from Bo Bunny and flowers from Prima. The title "Love & happiness" & heart are wood veneer from Prima as well which I've painted with green 3D paint, which gives it a sparkly effect. The tag is a vintage graphic that I printed off the internet a long time ago, onto a shipping tag.
The washi tape is from Craft Queen and the beautiful chippy hearts are from 2Crafty. I've had them in my stash for ages just waiting for the perfect page to use them on. The zipper is one I purchased in London, funnily enough from the V&A Museum. They have a lot of handmade sewing items in their gift shop but they also had things like zippers, buttons, hand-made jewellery and the like. I love the scallop edge on this zipper.
So there you have it. I really hope you are inspired to have a go at this sketch. We'd love to see your creations over at Sketchabilities. Thanks for looking & please feel free to leave a comment, oh & don't forget to check out the fantastic Sponsor for this challenge :)

SKETCHABILITIES #121
Happy Friday all! I hope you have something fun to do this weekend. In all my haste to get away last weekend I totally forgot to post my very first layout as a Design Team Member for SKETCHABILITIES. It is such an honor to be working with Karan and all her wonderfully talented Design Team. And let me give you the heads up.......firstly pop on over to the Sketchabilities Blog and check out all the inspo for this particular sketch, and secondly keep an eye on the Blog because there are some very cool sketches that will be coming up for you to try your hand at. And if that isn't enough, Sketchabilities' sketches are also on PINTEREST so you can use some of their past sketches whenever you get the dreaded "design block".
So here is the current sketch and you still have 6 days to upload your wonderful creation:
And here is my sample: "Happy by the Sea"
I have readjusted the sketch a little to fit my particular photos, so remember that you can rotate the sketch or turn it upside down or interpret however you like, as long as the sketch is recognisable in some way, shape or form :)
I really hope you can join in at Sketchabilities, we'd love to see your interpretations. Thanks for dropping by once again :)

Scrap 365 Sketch
Hello again. I really wanted to have a go at the September Sketch challenge over at Scrap 365 so I put my head down this morning to get it done. My biggest challenge usually is deciding on a photo. I took this pic of the boys last weekend and because I very rarely get a good one of the two of them together, I wanted to scrap it straight away. They usually pull faces when I have the camera out, but there's nothing like bribing them with food to get them to behave.....:) Here is the sketch:
Now this turned out a lot messier than I wanted, but for some reason when I do masculine pages it brings out the messy/grungy/agro side of me, hmmmmmm....I wonder why?
"Happy Carnivores"
I've stamped the background with some 3D Gold Paint, which I find I'm using regularly of late. It has a slight glitter to it. Also paint, chalk pen, plasterers tape and Glimmer Glaze. And of course my page wouldn't be complete without a Flair - this one is from Studio Fourteen40. I also used some very old Bo Bunny and Stampin' Up! paper. This little wooden crown is from Craft Queen.
I should be keeping up with some DT commitments and also starting my Christmas cards (what the?!! already?!), but when the scrapping mojo comes a knocking I just have to go with it :) Thanks for dropping by.

Scrap Africa Challenge #33 AND Craft Queen Inspo
Hello everyone, it's been a little while between blog posts but I've been busy getting my DT commitments up to date and having a weekend away as well because it's important to keep making memories :) Anyway there is a fun new challenge over at SCRAP AFRICA which I'm sure you'll want to play along with. The challenge is to create a project about a Travel Adventure, and who doesn't have some travel pics filed away somewhere. So now's the time to pull them out and share them and your story with us!
I created this page about our spontaneous trip to London last October. This is also a layout I created for the lovely Nicole over at CRAFT QUEEN. Everything on this page is available from Nicole's online shop. Beautiful travel inspired ribbons, Kaisercraft Captured Moments cards & stamps, Technique Tuesday stamps, Studio Calico wood veneer aeroplane, twine. I used a WRMK chevron stencil on the background with some white paint.
I would love to see your travel creations over at Scrap Africa. You still have a couple of weeks to upload it :) thanks for dropping by xx

CSI - S365-7 Challenge
Hello again, I'm finally back with a new entry for the Scrap365 Challenge over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration I loved the Scheme for this challenge and I have this cute little hot air balloon stamp & die from Echo Park that I've been itching to play with. Here is the Case File:
And here is my entry: "Our Grand Adventure"
I may have scrapped this photo previously, but I have very few half decent photos of the two of us so I tend to use the same photos several times. This challenge's requirement was to document an adventure. We have had many adventures over the years (Camping, many, many Road trips, Houseboating, Herron Island, using Singapore Airport as our main accommodation for 3 days thanks to a rogue volcano, Vanuatu, Singapore again, Dubai airport security, London & everywhere in between) but our first trip to Europe, and on a river cruise was by far our biggest adventure of recent times (not counting our tour of the USA for 3 weeks with young children in tow many years ago). You see we decided to start our family while we were still relatively young and to leave our "adventuring" until later when our little family had left the nest. Although we still managed to have many wonderful, adventurous trips with our kids leaving them with lots of fond memories, it is now "our time" to explore the world - while we are still capable of enduring the long-haul flights and have just enough patience to put up with airport security! We have found that we are more adventurous than we ever imagined and of course manage to get ourselves lost on many occasion, which is half of the fun :) I'm so looking forward to many more adventures.
This little Flair is from Studio Fourteen40 - yes, I do have an addiction!
TFL xx

Scrap Africa Challenge #32
Hello everyone! It's time for another Challenge over at SCRAP AFRICA and we have a truly talented lady as our Guest Designer. A lady whose work I have admired for such a long time. And the Design Team have come up with some pretty awesome samples for you to view. Here is the challenge by the very talented Marta:
Because I had a portrait orientated photo, I rotated the sketch to suit.
I've used the beautiful Graphic 45 "Botanical Tea" papers leftover from anothe project. I really love this shade of green with blue. The little Flair is from Studio Fourteen40. I wanted this to be a clean, neat page so as not to detract too much from the photo. I love candid shots like this and I'd like to thank whoever took it but I have no idea who it was - so when I find out I'll be sure to acknowledge her.
So as you can see it's a very easy sketch allowing you plenty of freedom. We'd love to see your work :)
Thanks for looking.
