Scrap 365 Sketch

Hello all, I'm back again today to post my entry for Scrap 365 March Sketch Challenge. I really enjoyed using this sketch and I had this page finished in no time at all.

Here is my take, and I seem to have found my mojo where masculine pages are concerned - not so daunting. Lots of layering and stamping. Some lovely wooden buttons from Craft Queen and the vibrant green background paper is Bo Bunny Double Dot (such a versatile range) and the layering pp is from Kaisercraft. I've used washi tape to cover the heart.

Thanks for looking and I hope you find time to let me know that you've visited my blog :)

CSI Case File #111

Hello everyone. I'm a bit behind in my blogging, but I've had trip to Sydney to deal with this week as well as work so hence of my tardiness. Here is this weeks Case File over at CSI and I must say that The Scheme this week had me thinking. Here is the Case File:

And here is what I did with it:

For the background I've used Gesso to tone down the Orange colour and then I used a stencil with some lovely new 3D Paint from Craft Queen in brown. One of my fave new products, this pain has glittery look and when applied gives an embossed feel. It looks fantastic when used with stamps on cards etc.

Here is the touch of pink that I've added as per The Scheme.  This is a pic of my girl and a friend who was visiting them from Oz. They were on a road trip between Munich and Berlin and came across this lovely field of sunflowers. The colour in this photo is more vibrant in real life, however I've desaturated it to suit my layout.

CSI Case File #110

The next Case File is up over at CSI: Colour, Stories, Inspiration and it is a truly lovely colour scheme to work with this week along with another great sketch from Page Drafts. This is my design as a Special Deputy for February.

I've designed the photo layer to be lifted to reveal journalling underneath. I used one of the prompts from the testimony criteria for my title and journalling. As you can see I've flipped the sketch around.

I love these pics of the gang in front of the old stone wall with Autumn leaves at their feet shining bright with colour. I used my photo of the bridge linking the two main photos. As I said, a lovely colour scheme and easy to work with so give it a go if you can.

TFL :) xx

Scrap Africa Sketch Challenge

Hello again, I'm back with another layout for Scrap Africa and only by the skin of my teeth. I really struggle with masculine pages hence the reason why I'm just getting this in on time. Here is the sketch:

I really liked the circles in this and decided to use some chipboard from 2Crafty to get the same effect. I've used rusting powder on the clock & circle and then I dabbed over it with some bronze paint. See the closies below.

I've also used some texture paste & stencilling on the background of the clock paper from Kazazz and the little timber embellies are from Prima. The chippy "Life" and timber "Love" word I've embossed with gold embossing powder & also dabbed over them with bronze paint. The tape on the background is from Prima Marketing "Engraver" collection. I love working with hessian (burlap) and twine on masculine pages.

I'm really pleased with how the clock came up with the rusting powder & paint.

Until next time, thanks for looking :)

Scrap 365

Happy Hump Day once again. We down here in Oz are literally melting. It's almost too hot for creating.....almost, but with a fan or two and then resorting to the air con, I managed to get a layout finished for Scrap 365

Here is their sketch:

FEB Sketch Challenge

A very easy, straight forward sketch I must say, which is all I had time for today. So here is my take using my fave colours:

I've used an old piece of Kaisercraft paper as well as some Kaszazz paper & fussy cut some flowers from it. Polka Dot button from Purple Pumpkin, "At the Beach" button from a Piece of Cake Designs, The chippie title is from WOW, Kaiser border stickers, Darkroom Door stamps, flowers (unknown), Glimmer Mist, Structure paste, muslin, Kaiser pearls & shells from the beach.

I've also used my new Memory Box Dies - Woodland Branch & Grove Branch and I'm really loving them!

This is my first entry for a Scrap 365 Challenge so I'll see how I go. Thanks for looking :)

CSI Case File #109

I'm a tad late in posting this one having been away for a wonderful weekend with some of my creative friends. Here is this weeks Case File over at CSI: Colours, Stories, Inspiration

Another lovely colour scheme, although the red, yellow & blue had me bluffed for a little while :) Here is how I solved the case as a Special Deputy:

Pop on over the CSI and check all the wonderful inspiration for the Case File! Thanks for dropping by :)

Orange Paperie & Co Feb Challenge

Hello & happy Hump Day! It's time once again for the new challenge over at Orange Paperie & Co and MARY has set us a LOVEly challenge for this month. The theme of course is LOVE including hearts & journalling. Here is my design:

I took the colours from DDs & partner's Barvarian costumes - the Dirndl & Lederhosen. I love blue & brown together! I've stamped the background with a Kaisercraft stamp, the pp is Echo Park "Keepin' Cosy" and a few bits from my leftovers stash. The chippie heart that I've inked & stamped is one I've had in my stash for yonks, the other white hearts & love ticket are from Stampin' Up! Flowers are Bo Bunny & Prima as is the timber title words. The lace is from Tattered Inspirations and the blue pearl accents are from Craft Queen. And the little owl tag is from the pack I bought at a random gift shop in London.

I've used two Love quotes which I thought were appropriate for this photo and I cut the German frame with my Cricut. The title words are covered with Glimmer Glaze, Crackle Accents & white paint (although you can't really see the crackle effect in this photo).

I hope you find some inspo here. Thanks for looking :)

Scrap 365-4

Hello again, I'm back today with the new monthly Challenge for CSI: Colour, Stories, Inspiration - Scrap 365-4  I was lucky enough to be asked to be a Special Deputy for February and my first job was to create a layout for the S365-4 challenge. Check out the lovely tones in this Case File!

This is what I came up with:

This is a photo of my parents 54 years ago this week. What a milestone!  I love old wedding photos and I added some Tim Holtz film strip and Bo Bunny flowers to add to the vintage feel. The pp is some leftover scraps I've had in my stash plus Maya Road "Journey of a lifetime" paper. The clock I stamped and die cut and set it to around the time of day that this moment probably occurred. A bit of texture paste & stencilling on the background with a touch of ink. The white lace I've had in my stash for a long time so I'm not sure where it came from.

I hope you get time to play along with the Scrap 365-4 challenge this month. Thanks for looking :)
